“Beer Cellar in Glen Ellyn is the kind of hipster haven that somehow pulls off the ultimate trick: it’s cool and genuinely welcoming.
The local craft beer selection is stacked with Midwest gems, rotating releases, seasonal surprises, and enough variety to make “I’m just browsing” turn into “I guess I’m building a mixed six-pack.” The staff knows their stuff without ever getting preachy, so whether you’re chasing hazy IPAs, crispy lagers, or something weird and wonderful, they’ll point you in the right direction fast.
And then there’s Dave, the secret sauce. He’s the kind of owner who remembers faces, makes introductions, and makes the whole place feel like your neighborhood spot from the second you walk in. You come for the beer… but you end up staying for the vibe.”
“This is the place to go for custom, hands on, guided tour of the wine racks, wine conversation and advice. There is no judging that you are only spending $8 a bottle or if you are spending $200 on a perfect gift bottle. It is always welcoming, gracious and kind. The wine choices are outstanding.”
“Really the Best Liquor store. I have seen in the Glen Ellyn area. Nice and decent collection outstanding ambience. We can get all varieties of wines and whisky bourbon, Scotchs and many more with best and lot of Beers brands too.
The owner is well experienced person and good. He is responsible and great Knowledge on liquor stuff.”
“Though a small shop, the carefully curated selection of wine, spirits, and beer covers a lot of ground. Though there's plenty of cool, eclectic bottles, the store doesn't shy away from also carrying staples. The staff is very laid back yet extremely knowledgeable and knows the inventory inside-out. It's a very cool experience to shop here because it feels like a fusion of a boutique wine shop and a neighborhood package store--of quality, convenience, and friendliness”
“This is a very clean and Organize Binny's and Peaceful place to shop for your liquor staff is helpful and know how to point you in the right direction for whatever you need...”
“If you’re into bourbon/whiskey and hunting good store picks don’t sleep on Malloy’s Finest Liquors (580 Roosevelt Rd, Glen Ellyn). I swung by after a less-than-stellar computer repair day but left feeling like I hit the mother lode.
What makes this place a gem:
🔸 Absolutely stacked bourbon selection some bottles and single-barrel picks I’ve never even seen before
🔸 Met “Bob” super helpful, knowledgeable, and generous enough to pour a sample of an RD-1 Single Barrel (117 proof) before I even bought it. That sealed the deal.
🔸 Great vibe kind of old-school Vegas-meets-bourbon-den, with barrel-tops on the wall and a cozy event/raffle area in front
🔸 The kind of place that doesn’t feel like chain-store booze shopping it feels personal, curated, and real
🔸 Friendly, transparent staff who will help you pick out a bottle, tell you about their raffle/club/programs, and treat you like they want your return business
I walked out with two bottles and I’ll absolutely go out of my way to hit Malloy’s again on future bourbon-hunting runs. If you appreciate unique, top-shelf bourbons and a store that treats whiskey like an event instead of a commodity this place is a don’t-miss.”
