Decaf is pretty rough. I had to throw it out today. I'm unsure if the regular is good.

I stopped by the Glen Ellyn Metra train station for some coffee, and got a surprise. It was a real pleasure talking to Mary, who is not only selling great coffee and scones (more tasty and affordable than the chain stores), but working with other stakeholders in the space to keep the building clean while also maintaining a vegetable garden on the grounds surrounding the station. After talking with her, it's obvious to me that she is pursuing a labor of love, and she is a true inspiration. I can't think of a more pleasant way to board the train in the morning, or just hang out for a game of chess when things are quiet during the day. More towns should get creative like this and make these kinds of spaces more inspiring, rather than just a drab place to gather while in a rush to get somewhere else.

Better to grab coffee or whatever from here before hopping on a train than getting something from a corporate big chain. It unexpectedly is pretty okay coffee if you can believe it. Next Stop is located inside the Glen Ellyn station. Has to be the best Metra station to get coffee because the others blow. There's also pastries made on site and from Blackberry Market. Checked this out because I was looking for coffee and saw the good reviews, so it was an easy choice to skip the corporate giants. It's amazingly in a Metra station of all places. These stations are known for being lame so I of course was skeptical. Has hard to get to hours. They're only open in the mornings on weekdays. I got a whole bean coffee. It's $2.50 for a regular. This is Metropolitan Coffee which is perfectly okay and even better with some of the raw sugar. I also picked up a Blueberry Pastry to bring back. It's about $2 or so. The pastries are apparently made onsite and my lady thought it was quite tasty. Forget about it being in a train station and try it. It's much better than you think. This is good on a train heading to wherever.

Craig sold Next Stop. I am so depressed. The lady who bought it seems nice enough, but she didn't know what kind of scones she was selling, couldn't accept my credit card, and didn't offer to warm up my scone like Craig always did. I live in Winfield and used to go out of my way to commute from Glen Ellyn because of Craig and all the heart he poured into this business. It looks like those days are over.

Coffee so good, it stops trains! Just watch! Legitimately some of the best coffee I've had, plus service with a smile. I've also bought their locally harvested honey and it is fantastic. A+
