The real gem, though, is Kathy in the office. She is always cheerful, helpful, and a pleasure to speak with. Kathy consistently goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best rental experience possible. If you have questions or run into any issues, she will take excellent care of you. She’s knowledgeable, professional, and truly a lovely person.

“This would easily have been a five if not for the damaged property, lack of response and the delivery driver. My move was from Midwest to the East coast. My experience with the team in Chicago was excellent. I was going into storage initially. I was told it would go into crates, I was told I could use my own blankets. No crates and my blankets disappeared in the process. The driver on the delivery end was very aggressive and was only concerned about how the outcome looked for him and not whether I was a satisfied customer. Moved items into the house to discover many items damaged. The major item was a stand up desk that I will have to replace at my cost.
Have reached out several times to the team in Chicago with no response. In the end it was disappointing.
I revised this to a 5 star, as it was my experience with the team in Chicago and that same team resolved all issues to my great satisfaction. I do believe I can recommend this team as they are very customer focused.”

“About 18 months ago I moved from a 1-bedroom apartment in one state to a single bedroom in a shared house in a different state. I had never seen the storage unit facility before and never used a storage unit. I did not know how big a unit I needed either, and was struggling to figure out what would be right. I was able to talk to a real person when I called Public Storage pretty quickly, and they were able to help me figure out how large a unit I needed and to set everything up so it would be ready when I moved.
I was dreading getting everything out of my U-haul and into my unit, but when I got there, there were flat carts available. No extra charge, and enough that my family and I could make several trips at once. It was incredibly easy when I got there as well, the lock and key were in my unit as I had been told they would be, all I had to do was load the unit and lock the door. I was able to access my unit whenever I needed to, and I never felt unsafe, even going alone. I had a code to enter and exit, and there was room for 2 vehicles to be side by side, even if one was a truck. The first time I accessed my unit after moving, I did not lock it completely correctly and I got a call that evening from an employee of Public Storage. I was very impressed to see how responsive they were, and that they check the facility regularly.
There was one rent increase in the 18 months I was there, but it was less than $50 more, and I was informed of the change on the app, by email, and by letter. When I was able to move into a new apartment, setting up the move out date was extremely simple. I could do it on the app, and I did not have to provide much notice. I still got an email and a phone call from a person to make sure I knew to take my lock and make sure I was out by the date I had given. The requirements when moving out are also posted on the latch of each unit. Move out was pretty smooth and I get to keep my lock.
All in all, it was a great experience. Thank you Public Storage. If I every need a unit again, I will definitely come back.”

“The location is convenient, especially being close to the highway.
However, if you're coming from the south, keep in mind that you can’t make a left turn directly into the property. You’ll need to go to the next light, turn into the strip mall, and loop back around.
If you're coming from the north, access is much easier.
The hallway leading to my unit has quite a few stains on the carpet, which isn’t a great first impression.
Inside the unit, though, it’s fine. clean and in decent condition.”

“I had an excellent experience with Public Storage at 17W170 Roosevelt Rd in Oakbrook Terrace. I stored my car there for about 14 months, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well everything turned out.
From day one, the facility felt secure, clean, and well-managed. Access was always smooth, and I had peace of mind knowing my vehicle was in a safe environment. After more than a year in storage, I was very happy to find my car in great condition with absolutely no damage or issues.

“We were full time travelers and needed a place to secure our possessions for an extended period of time. We chose this one because of location and it was indoors. We rented for 8 years and 3 months. We just moved out because we bought a place out of state. We were very happy with the quality of the building, never a bug, not even a cobweb. It’s exceptionally clean. The staff appears frequently walking around checking the halls and cleaning any debris that may come in through the sliding doors or on items stored. Thank you again for your service and keeping our things safe and clean.”
