Walked in to get a car appraisal. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and offered some water since it’s mighty hot outside. Carlos Rivera was the gentleman who helped us out and although we decided not to sell or buy a car at this time, his advice was very helpful. He was very knowledgeable and we didn’t feel rushed or pressured. When ready will definitely go back to this carmax.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CARMAX!!!!!! Bought a car at Carmax less than 2 years ago. Serviced it, put new tires on, drove it less than the average (5-mile commute to work), and kept it in the garage. Relocating, so have to sell the car. Took it to the same Carmax to see what they would offer me. Got less than the lowest end of the Blue Book value, though they told me everything looked fine and the car was in good condition. Got less than what I owe to Carmax (financed through them). Got 10,000 less than what I purchased it for 21 months ago (!). So, think twice before you purchase a car from Carmax, unless you think a car should lose 10K in less than 2 years (it was not new). You will overpay! They are grossly overpricing their cars. Another red flag: a prior accident came up in the car record which they did not disclose when I originally purchased the car. Today was a learning experience. STAY AWAY FROM CARMAX!!!!! The no haggle means you will OVERPAY. It's a great gimmick, be aware.

I made an appt to sell my car here. When I arrived I was told it would be 30 minutes to inspect it before meeting with someone. After waiting 70 minutes I checked in and was told that someone had just started. 5 minutes later someone in the business office said they ran title and I’d need to call the Secretary of State. That’s completely reasonable, but why no one did this before wasting 70 minutes of my day is completely unreasonable. Especially when half of the business office was playing on their phones while I waited. Do this part first before pissing off your customers.

Today I sold my car and had an amazing experience. Dominick helped me out he was so so sweet! The place was just a great enviremont. I had to wait a couple times for long periods for certain vehicle checks etc and didn’t not even mind they passed out snacks and drinks and were lovely. The whole process was super easy. I couldn’t believe how simple it was!

We bought a Tesla that had on the paperwork full self drive. After test driving it, and seeing that it did not have it. The representative assured that the car would have it once we purchased it. After the purchase, the car still did not have the updated feature, and carmax refused to credit us for it.

I am lowering Carmax's rating because they sold me a “MaxCare Extended Service Plan,” which made it sound like I was getting maintenance for my car when, in reality, it is an “Extended guarantee.” when I called Carmax after six months of paying for this unnecessary service, instead of returning my money they told me “Keep in mind the cancellation amount is prorated and may change if we do not receive the information back from you on the same business day.” in the email not in the phone, so I would not be aware of it. Carmax is an unethical thief like every other car sales company. Do not trust them or the loan sharks they promote.
I am changing Carmax's rating from 3 to two stars. Because they declined a car loan, “I have an insufficient number of accounts open and reported.” And I do because I already paid for my Prius, which I bought at Carmax, paid in full for my home, and had no credit card debt.
Carmax has short-side respect for Hispanic women customers who meet their obligations. Also, CarMax told me IDID does NOT HAVE TO PAY the loan until September, which I thought was a great perk. Surprisingly, when I made my first payment to Santander, the loan company charged me $549.85 on INTEREST from a $2500 payment. Santander said my interest is $12.50 daily and STARTS when I sign the loan. CarMax never disclosed this detail. What a ripoff.
I called Carmax and asked them to find me an orange Prius like they did before. I did not get an answer for a few days, and one day before my appointment, Joel said he had a sick day and “could not find any Prius” for me. I went to see Winston Bolt, and he showed us the computer with Priua on his laptop, but it was impossible to read at the distance and angle of the screen. He could print the cars available and show them to me individually but decided not to. So we went into the lot, and we were lucky to find a Honda hybrid with low mileage; it was $ 10,000 more expensive than our budget, but I decided to buy it.
WINSTON never suggested other hybrids available besides Prius in red, black, or white colors. Ugly.
Purchasing was as easy as before, and the loan's high interest rates of more than 15% were the same, although I paid for my former car in full before the end of the loan and always paid on time.
I always appreciate the plates and registration. I suggest also selling the parking sticker.
The salespeople at Carmax have become too lazy to help customers find the right car. They have customers to do all the search work, and they only close the sale.
Also, the transfer of cars became too costly.
Therefore, three stars.

This is our fourth car bought from CarMax. It took me some time of looking on the web site to find a car that had the features I wanted at a reasonable price. When I found it, I went to the CarMax at Glencoe to test drive a similar car before paying to ship the car I was looking at. I had the car shipped, and it arrived promptly. I drove it and was happy with it. With interest rates being high, I paid cash for it so I wouldn't have payments. The whole process was stress-free, as it always is. Jerry was very helpful, as were all the employees involved. Not haggling over prices is the best thing about shopping at CarMax. We may not buy many more cars, but we will most likely use CarMax whenever we do.
