on a Sunday morning bakeries answer is “sometime later …. maybe noon… cookie cakes will be ready” Absolutely zero help and a complete wasted trip. Think they care? No.

The baggers seem NOT to use too much common sense when bagging fruits and vegetables versus other heavier groceries and not only that, sometimes they just “throw” groceries into the bags and when it comes to delicate items like tomatoes, apricots or avocados for example, my luck would have it that they get thrown into the bottom of my bags and put other heavier items on top like they don’t realize that by the time I get home, the delicate items get somewhat smashed in other words, poor training and just working for a paycheck. Also, lack of inventory for popular items for instance, Schweppes glass bottled club sodas in the 10 oz size, they’re NEVER available only the larger bottles and if they have them, only the aluminum cans as to why that’s happening, I don’t know but Jewel needs to improve the way they stock their merchandise especially the ones that always seem to run out.

This is my usual Jewel I shop at, so the layout is familiar to me and seems logical. Sometimes you go into other Jewel locations and things are spread out weirdly. The produce at this location is usually nice and they have a reasonable amount of organic offerings. Most of the deli people are nice and helpful (and thank you to the ones who are very welcoming to my children!), and I usually find most of the employees at the very least accommodating. I am fairly particular about my groceries so I usually bypass the fresh seafood because it smells unappealingly odorous to me. They have a decent meat selection, I like the steak prices and appreciate that they carry a good variety of other meats such as bison, venison, boar, etc, but some things I prefer getting elsewhere (I usually aim for pasture-raised and organic, when I can). Good egg selection and other dairy products, the aisles carry a good variety of specialty and ethnic foods if you favor various grains, legumes, sauces, etc. Depending on what you're getting, the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend getting the Jewel app. Also a good place to get some affordable flowers, and if you want a coffee while you shop, there is now a Starbucks in there, as well as a bank. If something that is on sale is out of stock, you can go to customer service for a raincheck, btw!

I'm writing this review to express my concern about an employee I saw in the produce section. I watched them picking out fruit from a container with their bare hands, without wearing any gloves. This is a serious hygiene issue and makes me question the overall cleanliness standards of the store. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reinforces proper food handling procedures with their staff to ensure a safe shopping environment for everyone.
