What an amazing store! I was so pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely place right in my neighborhood. Karen was so helpful and knew exactly the right size and style shade for the lamps I brought in. I’m so pleased with how my lamps look- I’ll be returning soon to spruce up the rest of my house!

Small converted house that's crammed with shades; friendly staff. We had an old paper shade repaired (one of a pair); it took a couple of months because they weren't sure it could be done...but it's OK because they warned us it might, and because it turned out fine.

My old lampshade had fallen apart. I walked into this beautiful showroom and was warmly greeted by the knowledgeable staff. They couldn't have been nicer. Immediately the gentleman helping me found a replacement shade that had just arrived and was still in back. It was perfect and he made sure it would be a good replacement. This is a wonderful store. Beautiful showroom. Beautiful products.

My lamp shades had discolored with age and needed replacement. I found several sources online, but actually wanted to see the merchandise first hand. After reading the reviews for The Lamp Shader, I decided to give them a call this afternoon. Initially I wasn't sure what to expect after being advised to bring the lamp and shade into the store. That turned out to be a great idea because it allowed me to see how the various types of lamp shades would look on the actual lamp. Judy was very knowledgeable and helpful. While I was an electrician for 32 years, I dealt with predominately industrial lighting and not delicate decorative lamps and shades. I found the shop keepers very interesting and informative regarding this type of lighting. Within a half hour or so, I made my selection and was very happy with the finished look. It was slightly different than the Stiffel lamp shade I was replacing. I had found an exact match online, which was slightly more expensive than the items being shown at the Lamp Shader. So the cost of the lamp shade was competitive. The best part though was helping a small business in the Greater Chicagoland area. There is no substitution for the great customer service and individual attention that I received during my visit to the Lamp Shader. The store is just off of Waukegan Road and has their own parking lot and back entry, a big plus if you choose to bring in your lamp. The store itself has great curb appeal.

Excellent service & value. Living in Chicago and looking for a lamp repair place that doesn't look "shady" (no pun intended!) is a daunting task in the Chicago area. Called The Lamp Shader in Glenview about our floor lamp not working correctly and said to bring it right in. Got there and they said they could fix it while I waited (technician was on site). In less than an hour they had it operable and back in my car. Reasonable price as well. Highly recommend.

I was need of a lamp shade for an over 60 year old lamp. The lamp was my mother's and my daughter wants to use it. It requires a harp shade and the big box stores did not have one that fit . The lady , who has worked in the lamp business for 45 years, knew her business. She changed out the harp to better align with the lamp shade. She was patient with me as I sent pictures to my daughter to decide which shade she wanted. Walking in was taking a step back in time of a small business, who knows their stuff.

Love this shade shop! I thought my two bedside lamps needed to be repaired because the harps no longer fit and the great shades I had purchased at Lamp Shader a few years ago wobbled. The gentlemen working there was able to fix the problem in 2 minutes for no charge. :)
