“Picked up this Adenia Glauca from Sunnyside! They have a great collection houseplants, cacti and succulents. One of the best plant shops in the city if you’re looking for something unique. “I recently received the most exquisite flower delivery from Victor Hlavacek, Winnetka. Every detail was done to perfection. The flowers were gorgeous, the arrangement was beautiful from every angle and the vase was lovely. Even the packaging, including the colorful tissue paper was carefully done to not only look pretty, but to ensure the arrangement arrived in excellent condition. Today marks day six and we are still enjoying them!”

Primrose Chicago is, hands down, one of the best florists we've ever used. Unlike other places that failed to deliver on time, Primrose Chicago was incredibly helpful. We needed to change a delivery date last minute, and they were super accommodating, ensuring the flowers were delivered perfectly. They even called the our friend who was getting the flowers to confirm, which no other shop has done!”

“I went shopping for money trees the other day in the Edgewater area of Chicago and all of the Asian stores said they will not be selling them until May. So I waited the next day and start searching for plant stores in Niles and found these two money trees to replace the big ones so they can be repotted. The lady helping me find them in the store was very nice and she had very nice plants there. This will be my regular plant store for now. Very convenient and the prices are very good as well. “I have a friend who is a passionate gardener as myself, so when her special 'milestone' birthday came along, I wanted to send her something she could eventually plant in her yard rather than a floral bouquet. I chose a pink azalea. Though I live in the western suburbs, I wanted to find a florist in her Jefferson Park neighborhood. I chose Wall's Flower Shop on Higgins but the website was redirected to Donna's Garden Flower Shop near Pulaski & Peterson. I spoke to Avi on the phone and he was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. This floral shop was extremely conscientious about delivering this fragile plant in the midst of our cold January weather. They called my friend and made sure she was home to receive it. She was extremely excited and thrilled to receive her gorgeous plant full of pretty pink buds. I will definitely recommend Wall's Flower Shop/Donna's Garden Flower Shop to all my Chicago friends!”

“Love Chalet. It’s pricy, but can often find plants I’m looking for that I can’t find elsewhere. They take good care of their plants and many of the staff are very knowledgeable, if you can manage to lasso one of them. They can be VERY busy at times (true of any good garden center). Wish they had a little more room to maneuver among the outdoor plants, but that all said, I’m grateful they have as much as they do for selection.”

“This update is based on my experience buying wood trim for a project: they have a great selection, and unlike my experience at Lowe's in Lincolnwood, their website is actually accurate and tells you which aisle/bin the item is in (see my Lowe's review for that cluster of a mess). I found what I needed, and they have a sawhorse set up so you can cut trim yourself -- I was surprised that they even had a miter box, as I thought that wasn't something they offered to avoid having people doing their full project cutting in the store. I needed to miter the pieces for my project, but I didn't know the exact measurements and had never used a miter box before, so I didn't want to embarrass myself trying to figure it out at 7am on Christmas Eve in the middle of a Home Depot. So instead I just cut the trim to the approximate sizes I needed with some wiggle room to measure it exactly later, and managed to figure out how to use a miter box at home after watching a Youtube tutorial. So, yay for that. Also after my adventures in elementary woodworking (lol), I needed wood filler/putty because the miter saw I was using was like 20 years old and not the most precise. Their website said they didn't carry the kind/stain shade I was looking for, but when I got there the day after Christmas, they did indeed have it. So, that was perfect. And now I have an awesome, handbuilt coffee table. About 5 years ago I also needed a random 1x4 (or maybe 1x6?) for a single shelf to fill the gap between my fridge and my wall, and one of their staff members used the power saw setup to cut that for me. That was also an easy peasy process. For my future random wood project needs, I'll definitely come here rather than Lowe's.”
“Ryan helped us with our landscaping and flagstone path project. ( Major shout out to Damien and the crew too!) The results were exceptional and we could not be more happy! As with all major home projects, we had a few surprises come up, but Ryan was always there to work things through with us. As a matter of fact I got to know Ryan so well I now count him as a friend. Red's is very lucky to have this man on their team!”

Prices may be higher than your average floral shop but Julie finds the best quality product on the market that look the most realistic. She is recommended all over the nation for her designs. “I remodeled my basement a few years ago, and my contractor and I bought everything at the Elston Ave. Home Depot. A few weeks ago, I wanted to buy a back door. I called Home Depot several times, but the phone system is not good, and I couldn't get through to the department. I came in and spoke to someone, but she didn't give me the correct information. I came back the following day to speak to a manager. His name is Prince, and he is truly a Prince. He told me that I would have a discount on the door to make up for the poor customer service that I had experienced. He also gave me his cell number. Ultimately, they didn't have the door that I wanted, and I called and told him that I had found what I needed at Menard's. He told me that I could pick out some things to make up for the lack of customer service. I came in a few days later, and got a whole lot of cleaning supplies! He kept telling me to take more! I was a 78 year old kid in a candy store! Prince is truly a Prince, and a smart manager. I do hope that they can improve upon the phone system. However, I will keep coming back and ignore the poor phone service. The customer service is great! Thank you, Prince!”

“This is the store I usually go to for garden supplies. The store is always clean and well organized, with friendly associates. I had great experience at the store today when picking up 8 bags of garden soil by myself. The store associate Umar generously helped me haul the loaded cart to my car and loaded all of them into my trunk. I would highly recommend this store to anyone in the neighborhood.”
