The issue is that no one knows where your rental truck is until the day of. I made this reservation about a month previous for this location. No one could tell me where to pick up the truck when I asked but guessed it would be somewhere in the county. I was promised I would get a call before 5pm the day before and the truck would be located within 100 miles. There was no call. I learned the vehicle was 118 miles away in rural Indiana at 9am on the day of the rental. This cost 6.5 hours for two people (one to drive the truck back) and hundreds of dollars in extra fuel.

I booked the reservation online and accidentally chose the wrong date of return. I needed my rental for an extra day so they worked with me to be able to reserve the vehicle for an extra day and to get the best rate. I appreciate the help with the rental, especially helping me get the best rental rate.

Jeremy was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. I rented a truck for 4hrs online, I had a couple questions when I went in to get the truck. He was clearly annoyed answering my rental related questions, responding "I have no clue" and I decided to cancel my reservation. It's unfortunate I can't rate just him and it's a reflection of the entire establishment. I've never had this kind of experience here. The reps have always been friendly and knowledgeable.

We rented a truck to move our grandmother to assisted living. We returned the truck and the guy said they already shut down the system he would check it in the next morning. Well 3 days later we get a bill and charges on our account for damaging the truck. We argued it because they had no proof of before and after but said we were stuck regardless. When we went to fill the gas tank as well, the gauge didn't move at all. Shady practices here. Don't trust them.

Be very careful here. We're going to have to dispute with our credit card and better business bureau. When renting our.truck we were told it had a full tank.of gas so.to bring it back full. When driving away I noticed it had 5/8 of a tank so took a picture. Drove about 40 miles, filled up a little more.thsn we used before dropping it off, then got a copy of our bill charging us $52 for 10 gallons of gas because it wasn't full.
A couple of issues here. Pure logic would tell you that if someone drove 40 miles there is no way they'd use 10 gallons of gas. Sent pictures of the gas level and mileage when we picked up the vehicle. No response yet from the facility.
The kid confirming reservations told the people before us they had a full tank but never saw the vehicle. So makes me curious how many people they screw over because they don't pay attention.

This was my first time renting a moving truck from the Grayslake, Il location and it was as close to perfect as it gets. Jeremy checked me in right away. He was very personable and made the rental experience a very good one! Exactly the same when dropping off. Jeremy and another gentleman (unfortunately I did not get his name) were waiting at the inspection lane. I felt like I had an Indianapolis 500 pit crew waiting for me! The inspection was very quick and thorough! Jeremy opened the door for me with a smile! First class all the way! I’m sooo happy I chose Grayslake U-Haul! My move was stressful, but thanks to Jeremy, my rental experience was not!!! Thank you Grayslake U-Haul and Thank you Jeremy!

I used the 10 ft. Truck for 6 hours. But the executive have assumed that I was taken the truck for 2 days and charged be wrongly. I didn't realized that moment. I walked thru the store and made the payment. But Unknowingly they charged me again for late fees and additional one day charge again. I was wondering on seeing my credit bill. I raised the compliant still no update from U-Haul. The feedback from chat customer service is "it will take 3 days or 48 hours to be contacted"
For doing right payment and with the trusted service I gave my cards there. But the outcome to me is very bad.
So I request customer, Please make sure everything from your end to get rental. If you faced similar issue I would recommend to go for other rental company for renting vehicles.

I store my work equipment there and the people who return the trucks don't know where to leave them so they end up blocking the entrance and making those who have to leave for work impossible and the 24hrs service sucks cus all they say is we will get there when we open. What is the hole point of having a 24hrs service if they're not going to help you
