Budget Gurnee mills
Rented a mini van well in advance. When I arrived I was told they did not have any mini vans. I expressed that I needed a mini van hence why I booked it. I was told there’s nothing they can do for me. I was very frustrated because I had to get a babysitter lined up so I could go pick up the rental car and at the end of it all I ended having to Uber home. I asked if there would be mini vans later and was told maybe but sometimes people extend their rentals last minute. I walked away from the desk for a few minutes to call my husband and ask how he wanted to move forward, when I came back inside the woman (who claimed to be the manager) put a sign up saying “stepped away from the desk call this number for help” when I called and she answered and I told her I was back she told me I needed to change my attitude and she wasn’t going to deal with my shit. Nice customer service.

I had a terrible experience with the Budget at Milwaukee airport. They could only give me a smaller car than the one I had reserved for 7 passengers and I waited in line 2 hours to find that out. I took the small car to Budget in Gurnee and Ritu went out of her way to get me the SUV I needed along with the child booster seat I had reserved. Milwaukee airport could not make this right. Ritu at Budget in Gurnee probably saved me from dropping Budget.

Wow what terrible customer service. I can’t totally remember I believe her name was Ruta or Rupa. Refused my insurance. When I called my insurance to confirm then she wanted the policy number which I had to begin with. I feel bad maybe she was having a rough day but we all have stuff going on and still have to do our job. Maybe budget rentals insurance should offer mental health services for their workers. Next time I’ll use enterprise like I have in the past. I would not come here, especially after reading other reviews.

Gurnee Mills, IL Budget Rental
The website was easy to reserve but everything after was not so good.
Pick up Gurnee Mills, IL too forever about 30-40 mins for 9 am pick up. The minivan was not clean and the gas tank was only half full. Took it anyway since we were running behind. Everything was documented.
Return mini van at Gurnee Mills, IL on time. Was charged $80.xx for returning it late. Called customer service and provided a screenshot of our drive to drop off with time stamped. Refund the charge, no apologies. If we didn't have Life360 to prove the time of return, we would not have gotten our refund. Make sure to get a receipt if possible, picture of time return, whatever documentation or an erroneous charge may happen.
Not a great customer experience.

When I 1st rented with Avis/Buget I tried doing a reservation online but it showed no vehicles. So I went to the Gurnee location where Ritu was so helpful on helping me with the issue online and went ahead and finished my reservation. I felt so bad for her as she was helping me she got rushed by customers, waiting and was super busy. Once she was done helping me. I told her go ahead and help the other customers I’m not in a hurry. As she finished she took me and another family to our vehicles. Car was great no issue.
I went in to close my contact and to open up another contract. Which I wasn’t aware you can only extent 3times. Which wasn’t an issue. I was helped by Radka who was also wonderful super helpful as finding what I needed cheaper. I will definitely use Avis/Buget again.

Car was delayed on arrival then I was rushed to take car without inspection. Rep insisted car was like new until I pointed out the crash sites then she said she was already aware of the crashes. Car ran ok but got pulled over driving because plates were expired 3 months prior. Overall poor experience. Make sure to take before/after high resolution video especially here.

I had no problems whatsoever with my rental. I was originally supposed to rent a car on the 24th but due to a family emergency, I needed it sooner. Zee was very kind when I explained that I was waiting for my sister to drop me off after getting back from the hospital.
There were dings and other damage but I wasn't concerned. I ended up renting a Hyundai Santa Fe and it was a great vehicle!
We ended up accidentally putting a scratch on the back door when we tried to close the garage door and realized too late that it was larger than my sister's Escape.
Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be renting from them again. Especially since it's right next to Portillo's. 😋

I've had the best experience at Avis Budget Gurnee. It's right by the entrance and so conveniently located. Ritu is great and helped me through my first car rental. She made it so easy to do business with. Sh explained the process and gave me the car I wanted. Will definitely be coming back!

OMG!! I was out there Jan. 14-19, 2025 for my daughters (Navy) grad. I was treated VIP, great customer service, and free vehicle upgrade. I even extended 1 extra day to original date rental with no problem. Very understanding, loved the great services received. First time in state of IL., better services than any rentals here in AZ. Thank you, thank you so much for superior customer services! I was very grateful and happy.

Zee helped me with my rental drop off. He was really personable and went out off his way to accommodate my early drop off. Great guy! Look forward to using Budget again.
