Pretty irritating experience. Went day of vacation to pick up our rental was told because it was a 7 seater it was a "special vehicle" needed a credit card with at least $1000 limit (nothing was ever said about this) had to switch vehicles to a smaller SUV for a few hundred dollars more.

Terrible experience at this Budget/Avis location. I reserved a compact car through Costco Travel on Tuesday morning for the next day, Wednesday, at 10 am. I received a call from Andre at 8:11 am Wednesday informing me there was a problem. They would not have a car available until about noon. I asked why I could make a reservation online for a car if there were no cars available. He replied "you reserved a rate, not a vehicle." I asked if there were any other vehicles available. He told me "if there were any other cars available, I wouldn't be calling you." So rude and inconsiderate. I then asked if he would let me know when my car came in and he said yes. No call back the entire day. I had to make alternate arrangements for transportation. This is the last time I will be renting a car from them.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS- Stay far away from this company. They will charge you $300 cleaning fees after you leave. When you ask for proof, they will not allow you to view the vehicle or show you proof/pictures. This place is a total scam. My rental was $300 and they said they had leaves on the back floor and charged us $300. BE AWARE and stay far away from this place.

They will call you last minute to inform you that they don’t have a car available for you. And then you will need to call for a refund which will take up to 10 business days to get your money back. I was on uber to the location when they informed me this. It was first for me with and I am sure it will be the last.

Horrible service they charged my account for a prepaid rental, got to the location and they told me they didn't have any cars available, 3 days later I still have not gotten my money back, Budget in general is just a scam! Zero stars

I honestly want to say this is the most pathetic rental car business you can try and rent a car from. They give you such a hard time for horrible selection of vehicles they have. I want to say 0 stars. Enterprise or Hertz definitely ext time. At least you don't get scammed by the people who work there.I got very RACIST energy as well while waiting to be served by a white female and let my counterpart white male friend check in his car while I was the one that was supposed to be served first. Bogus!

My parents rented a vehicle from Budget Gurnee IL. The vehicle was a Chevy Trax, which is a compact SUV and not an intermediate SUV which is what they had reserved. This caused a tight squeeze for my parents as they were traveling from Gurnee to Boulder Colorado.Additionally, the Chevy had roof racks that created an immense amount of noise that caused my parent's to get migraines during their 14 hour drive, which if you've even been on a road trip, it's the last thing you want happening in the car. It wasn't until my dad pulled over after having to deal with this for hours that he brought the roof racks together and tied them up that the noise became manageable(ish). The racks had a key lock to be removed, however that was not provided during pickup. All of this could've been very easily avoided. I'm sure this must've been a complaint of others in the past but yet nothing was mentioned.Unfortunate that the employees at Budget Gurnee were not able to realize that the car was being dropped off in Colorado, being at least a 12 hour drive, Boulder being 14.5. On top of that, the tread on the tires were wore. I used to work at Boulder Toyota as a mechanic and seeing my parents pull into Boulder with such wore tires I was shocked they were given such a car especially during the winter time, extremely dangerous in Colorado.I hope this review can allow for better review of the customers rental pickup and drop-off. And the consideration of customers in regards as to what kind of conditions and roads they might have to endure during their planned journey in a Budget Rental vehicle. This type of carelessness could lead to a vehicle not being properly equipped for some conditions and roads.Thank you for reading,Daniel

These people are worse than enterprise. They take people money from their accounts and charge people for absolutely nothing. I paid them for the rental and deposit and after that these people still took $1300 plus out of my account unauthorized. I cleaned they car, very well before being it back and I made sure the gas was filled. There was no reason to take $1300 plus some from my account. If it was an error then someone needs to be fired for being unprofessional and committing a crime which is stealing. I am still frustrated.

RENTER BEWARE - They will process your credit card payment and hand you the receipt. This receipt will not reflect any other charges they feel they want to add on. We dropped off the car clean and gave back with the quarter tank of gas in which they gave it to us with. They claimed the car was dirty when we returned. When I asked if they took pictures or if I could come over and see, she said its their judgement if its dirty or not and I am not able to examine her claim nor will she remove the fee. $250 charge to vacuum the car. So BEWARE. You have been warned to not use this location.

Made a reservation a few days ahead of time. Uploaded my ID and did everything they asked to make it go smoothly. I arrived and was denied a rental and stranded because of it. I had the money but they refused due to bad credit. Why couldn't they tell me that before I arrived? Big waste of time and money being stranded an hour from home.

I was here to return a car about ten minutes before close on Saturday (1pm). The gates were closed and no one was there. My ride was there to take my things and me but no employee to be found. I talked to customer service and they said there should be no problem returning it the next day without a fee. The next day I arrived back with the car at open time 9am and the employee tries to tell me she was there until 1:30 with another customer. Had to call customer service again to finally get it corrected. I would never rent or return to this location again.

Was told I had to take and pay for "optional insurance". I was supposed to initial to acknowledge this was for additional cost but was not allowed to decline it.
