I have been to every Home Depot in my immediate area and I have to say the customer service is absolutely ridiculous. There is plenty of staff just standing around and when you go towards somebody they walk away. I don't know why I have to go searching for an employee and it takes me a while to find someone. And when I find them they are either on their phone texting or gossiping with another employee. Another thing is when you come face-to-face with a employee they are standoffish. It is ridiculous that there was no cashier around so we had to go to the self check out. This place needs better management and people that are actually eager to do their jobs correctly. Another concern I have is customers walking around and shopping without mask. I have several health conditions and if I can were a mask the next person should be able to were one. In the last couple of weeks I have spent thousands of dollars. If I did not need what I came here for I wouldn't. I am very unsatisfied.

This is now the third time I have placed an online order, received confirmation, then TWO hours later as I'm en route to pick up received word I'd be refunded as said item is NOT in stock. Associate hung up after stating she would refund me, so I couldn't even cancel the rest of the order. Thus, more time wasted only to find their customer service is worthless. I only ordered the rest as accessories to the "Not In Stock" shelving unit, so if you are looking for a hassle free place to order online-- HIGHLY RECOMMEND LOOKING ANYWHERE BUT HERE.

The Home Depot was a great place to take my 8 students with autism. We went in January and took a class lead by the nicest teacher. The whole thing was free. I would highly suggest taking a class with them as the accommodate all needs and make it fun to build. The Home Depot in Gurnee should be commended for the inclusive environment they created!

We had the best experience buying our new washer with "Stan the Man"! He was super sweet, kind, courteous, and made small talk with us while we made our purchase. He also gave us tips on things we didn't know and made sure we got the most for our money. We would definitely go back to Stan for any future purchases and highly recommend him to anyone looking to purchase appliances, as he seemed to be very knowledgeable on what he was doing. Thank you for making our Home Depot shopping experience amazing, Stan!

I'd like to rate it no stars.... Your Gurnee store is neck and neck with the Gurnee Post Office for the worst customer service I've encountered, at least on the phone. I tried calling to speak to someone (8:00 PM) in the blind dept and ALLLLLLL employees were busy and I was put on a never ending phone loop accordingly. I did call back and finally got a rather un enthused guy . I thought I would cut my losses and ask my rather simple question, "does HD repair window blinds". He said he didn't know and the conversation seemed to be ending right there. Like asking if John is there and the person answering says "no" and doesn't offer to have the called speak to someone who might know something. I finally asked the guy if he could put me thru to that dept and if he thought someone might answer. He was pretty condition to answering "I don't know". So, I hung up and I'll go to Lowes in Kenosha, NOT Home Depot. And damn they are closing the Lowes in Gurnee. Couldn't happen to HD instead, too bad

After visiting the location closer to my home and no being able to accomplish what I needed I visited the Gurnee store. I was about to give up when I ran into a woman named Sandy. She was more than helpful and took the time to help me with what I needed (shower door purchase & install). She was unfamiliar with the process at first but figured it out and everything turned out beautifully! Thank you Sandra, you should seriously be promoted. Your dedication to customer service is not seen very often and I greatly appreciate you.

Just tried to get someone to cut plywood for us , and the employee working in millwork flat out refused to help us because “he only worked in millwork, not lumber “. Tried to get someone else to help, no luck , so we left and went to Menards instead. Attempted to speak to a manager but they were “busy “. This was our go to Home Depot but I am sure we will NOT return.

Well, I haven't been back since 8/2017 but my husband wanted air conditioners from Home Depot so I said I would go. Once again, employees that walk around the store that won't give eye contact or reach out to assist. I loaded the 2 registers myself into the cart and went to look at vanities. Found something I would like, but couldn't reach it and that salesperson actually saw me and walked away. I decided to get to checkout as once again - Home Depot doesn't appear to really want to service or need my business. Once at checkout for 35 minutes - yes, 35 minutes - on the Saturday of Memorial Day there was only 1 - yes 1 checkout open. Once checked out, I asked for assistance to load it into my car. The person at the register said he would call someone - who never came. I went in again and he paged again, and they never came. It was then that I went back to the register and told him to call a store manager as I was returning the air conditioners - and not walking back to the front of the store - and I was going elsewhere. Al from the Contractors desk came to my rescue and asked the best question I have had in a long time in any retail. He asked "How do I make this right? What can I do for you?" At the time, I said just get my credit so I can get out of the store. I told him that I hadn't been in for 6 months and had already written a horrible review on yelp and see that nothing has changed. By the time the store manager appeared, I had agreed to let Al load my car. Al was 100% dedicated to my satisfaction as a client and gave me his card so I could call if I ever needed to return to Home Depot again. Want to also mention that during checkout I asked about the rebates on the air conditioners and was told they were back where the air conditioners were. So I did the walk back to the entrance to get the information. While at the entrance, I couldn't help but notice that the customer service line was out the front door. Does Home Depot really not know how to staff for Memorial Day weekend or do they just not care? Are they there to sell to consumers or do they just hang and assume people will continue to shop with the lack of assistance they offer?
