They were so helpful understanding and able to help my kids get the same exact frames! It was a great visit the staff made everything easy as possible for us!

wish i could give a higher rating but after the conversation i had with the receptionist, i think two stars is well deserved. i called because i made an appt and wanted to get an estimate at how much my visit would be with my new insurance. the woman proceeded to then run my insurance and then say that she couldn’t give me an estimate… i’ve never heard that before. every place i’ve been to always gives me an estimate because who wants to go somewhere without knowing what they are paying. the worst part is that when i told her that i wanted to cancel, she said “okay!” and hung up. so unprofessional. when i went to visionworks in gurnee (everyone should go there instead) the receptionist was so kind to inform me that the receptionist at my eye dr ran my insurance without letting me know that i now wouldn’t be able to use my benefits even though i received no services from them. oh, and he actually gave me an exact estimate without giving me trouble. anyway, isn’t that something you’d let someone know because it’s not always assumed? im so glad i didn’t reschedule my appointment because based off of that interaction im sure it would have been even worse in person. again, vision works with Dr. Gunn is where u want to go

Highly recommend this location in Gurnee, IL. I once went to the location in Vernon hills IL, the front desk ladies are so rude. So if you are looking for a nice welcoming place to check out some new eye wear 😉 check MyEyeDr In Gurnee IL!

Never had any issues coming in here but Today Aug. 8th my husband went in, and according to them they don't have any documents in Spanish, and they can't access to it. We have to let know in advance which is really strange. They were rushing my husband who doesn't really understand English to sign papers because the appointment was at 11am & it was 11:15 and it was passed the exam appointment, and I called them on the phone due to what they were telling my husband & I told them if they could send it to me so I can sign it they said it was already late & that they had appointments every 20mins. Super bad services I was going there for last 3 years no issues and now customer services is really bad & really unprofessional & organization no communication. We felt discriminated for being Hispanic & felt rushed. Keep in mind you can't sign papers you can't read or understand & every clinic should have a Spanish version of papers because you never know who can show up and is not always going to be told that they don't speak English. Felt really discriminated!!

I'm not sure why there's all these bad reviews. I can only speak on my experience here and it was wonderful! I wasn't sure which location I initially made an appointment so I showed up 30 minutes early. They checked me in as soon as I knew I was at the right location. I got called bad very quickly and the staff was kind and made me feel at ease about my appointment. Compared to a chain vision center I visited, this was WAY better. Prices are reasonable as well. I will be a returning customer.

Highly disappointed. Made my prescription sunglasses wrong. They are my only pair. Need them for my kids sporting events and graduation. Over 2 weeks and still have not gotten them. When it's your error, you need to step it up with your turn around time. They don't care. Go somewhere else. They are so expensive and they are taught to upsell you to get you to spend more. My family of 5 and my parents have been going to them for years. We are done.

Wow! After many calls to other local places, I finally found my new place for vision care! Beyond happy, they took the time to triple check my coverage and help me with contacts, glasses, etc. Helped tracked down my college students recent out of state eye exam and ordered his contacts under our family plan. I am 100% happy with this care and will be back. Thank you all! Much needed help after many failed attempts on figuring out my coverage. Thank you all!!!

My family of 6 and I have been going there for years. I took off work for an appointment yesterday that I thought I was 6 minutes late for. I parked in front of the front door 1 minute early and tried to get my employee off the phone, but sometimes duty calls! Anyway, I run into the store at 4:36 and tell the front desk lady I was there for my 4:30, to which she promptly replied, “it was a 4:20.” So I go about begging to be seen. After 10 texts and calls a week, I figured they would want to serve me. The rude front desk lady then asks me if I need a contact appointment and I told her that I was happy to skip that part if I could be seen that day. She says she can ask the doctor, to which I thank her. Without even pretending to ask the doctor 3 seconds later she asks me when I want to reschedule. Umm..weren’t you going to ask the doctor? Now look, I own a service based business and I know that being on time is important, however, every single time I’ve ever been there for myself or with my husband or four kids, we have never been seen within 15 minutes of walking in. So, yeah, last time I was in, I spent $1600. My family probably spends $3K a year there. I’m going to take my thousands to a place where the front desk lady doesn’t delight in sending clients away. This is the second time—last time I was 12 minutes late a few years ago. I have a job, run a company, and have four kids. I simply refuse to interrupt another afternoon where I will SURELY have to sit there for a half hour before being seen. Nope. I’ll spend my thousands somewhere else. And STOP TEXTING ME!

I called to let the office know I was running about 10 minutes behind and then another 10 minutes, trying to be courteous. When I called the second time, I was told to reschedule. Which I understand, but all too often, I am the one waiting....but it's okay for them to be running late. I thought they would be a bit more understanding, but I guess their time is more valuable then mine. Also, be prepared to receive an ABNOXIOUS amount of calls and text messages. One time a representative called me at 9PM! I have little kids with an 8PM bedtime! They also do not allow making more than one appointment at a time, so if you have more than one kid, they believe that you have all this time to keep driving to their offices for appointments.I should also mention that I was a customer for years, before it became a franchise.
