I used this company in past years to shut down my sprinkler system, however, switched providers in 2022. North Shore Lawnsprinkler charged me a shutdown fee even though the service was never performed. I called multiple times to dispute and they kept saying they would get back to me. They took my money for no service which is highly unprofessional. I would never use them again for any service.

I wish I could provide them with a negative star. I called and spoke to their rep explaining what issues I was having. I asked for someone to come to my residence to provide me with an estimate. They scheduled a time and date with me one week in advance. OK so I scheduled the appointment and took a day off work as a result. The day of the scheduled appointment I called Northshore to confirm they were coming at the designated time and address. Guess what? They had no record of the appointment and of my original call! They promised to look into the matter further and call me back. Well, I did receive a call back and told me they found the appointment and that their estimator would be by at the designated time originally discussed but to allow him an hour window. Guess what? Half hour past their hour window I received a call from North shore telling me that they do not service my area! How about that! If you want to be treated this way as a customer, I encourage you to call them to schedule an appointment and good luck!

We "inherited" this company as our sprinkler company when we moved into our house ten years ago. It was the company the previous owners used and had presumably installed the sprinkler system. They were nothing but a headache for me. Communication is lacking, their organization with scheduling is a mess, and they left a mess behind with the final shutdown they did this fall. Probably because they knew they wouldn't be asked back to do any service. To make a long story short, there were a few years when we didn't start up the system. So I knew we would have some repairs to do. The company sent people out to do estimates and, ultimately, the work. More than $1800 later, the system should be good to go. We have them come out and do a proper shutdown. Next spring, call them out to do a start-up, and low and behold, they find that there now needs to be another roughly $2000 worth of work done on the system (mainly because a bunch of lines are busted from not being shut down properly). Our system will rot in the ground, or I'll find a new company to service it. I have attached pictures of how they left our system after shutting down this season (I didn't tell them I was canceling their services either, so this isn't vengeful, just lazy).

Can you give less than 1 star? Quality of the work was terrible. They do not use PVC pipe and the piping they use is inferior and more prone to leaks. We had to hire another company to come and repair after less than a year. When they installed the sprinkler, they left the yard a mess. Clods of dirt with grass seed thrown on it. I wish I would have looked at Yelp reviews before hiring them. I trusted our landscaper.

I have used them for more than 30 years. They installed my lawn sprinkler system then and have serviced it semi-annually since then. I was always very pleased with their service and pricing until a few years ago. I don't know what happened at this company, but all of a sudden the quality of the work dropped off significantly, particularly in opening my system in the spring. For the past 2 years or more, the service person left the job saying he'd finished it but failed to get a particular zone working. I had to have them come out again to do it properly but they were all booked so I had to wait 2 months for them to service it properly and my system was inoperative in that zone all that time. I'm very disappointed, particularly because i was so happy with them for so many years.

Called Northshore, explained the issue I was having with their representative and scheduled an appointment one week in advance to obtain an estimate. I had to request a day off of work to meet with North Shore. The day of the scheduled visit, I called them first thing in the AM to make sure they were in fact coming as promised. This unprofessional business had no record of my appointment and that I ever called them! They promised me they would look into the situation and call me back. Well, they did call back to tell me they found my appointment and that an estimator would now be stopping by. Guess what? A half hour past my scheduled appointment I received a call from Northshore, I expected their representative had arrived but NO! The call was to tell me they do not service my area! WHAT? I live less then 10 miles away from Highland Park! Now, I wonder why they couldn't tell me this when I originally called them and took a day off of work to meet with them. Beware!

The office secretary or employee was very rude and acted unprofessional when I tried to make an appointment. There are plenty of other lawn sprinkler businesses that give better service and are not rude to their customers.

Here is my story. I received a postcard by this company and decided to use their service. I should have been alarmed when they told me that they will charge me upfront and took the credit card number. They wrote down my name, email address and all the relevant information. It was a long waiting time because they are “very busy”. I thought that end of June is probably too late but again decided to go ahead. Nobody came at the appointed time, I called the company and they told me that the technician just left. Allegedly, he arrived 30 minutes after the appointed time but didn’t knock nor rang the bell. The funniest part is that all this time I was in the room facing the window leading to a driveway. They said they called me but it turned out they somehow they got all the digits in my phone number wrong, they said they emailed me (don’t see the point but anyway) and of course email was wrong too. No problem with getting numbers of my credit card right. Then they offered me again to wait another 2 weeks! At this point I requested a refund and what a surprise, they can’t credit back my card, they have to issue the check. One week later, check arrives with the wrong name on it! Absolutely ridiculous. I called the company and asked them to send a new check. They agreed but one day later, got another phone call. Sorry, we can’t do it. You HAVE TO send us back the wrong check, they said and then we will send you a new one. You can’t cancel a check? What a mess.

Shane Williams the apparent sales manager was beyond unprofessional. He didn’t introduce himself, very short and rude responses to us. I will definitely take my money elsewhere!

This company should never be trusted!! They sent me a bill for $85.00 for a sprinkler back flow test that they did on August 25th, when I had already taken care of it with a different company in July. This test was due on August 15th with the village, and they are trying to tell me that I called them after August 15th and asked them to do this test even though I had already done it with another company. I never spoke to anyone at this company!! They are now refusing to waive their $85.00 charge. Previously, they came out to service our sprinklers, told us that we needed to replace 12 heads. When we had another company come out, it turned out that we only needed 3 new heads. No one should ever hire these people to do work as they are complete scam artists and liars!!
