A horrific nightmare. Does not even deserve one star. Not enough room here to list all of the insulting behavior, the trauma, the unnecessary pain I went through. Big time AVOID. Some tidbits: Told me I should go to Cook County General as their charity case. Did not use enough numbing agent so the exam was sheer agony. Delayed sending my report to my new retina doctor for 6 hours while I waited for her to see me. Told an emergency room doctor to refuse care for me. I still shudder when I think about these monsters. I am still traumatized by the experience.

Since this business keeps deleting my google review I'm going to leave this here. I took my mom to see a retina specialist here today. The waiting room had lots of patients, ONE receptionist with a faded sign that said "I'm the only one here please be patient with me" (also the sign was framed how often do they not have any help?) anyway one woman was coughing in the waiting room. She gets on speaker phone with her friend her friend says "I have bad news I have COVID I'm so sorry I was in the car with you yesterday my test is positive." The woman proceeds to loudly tell her she thinks she's fine and she wasn't contagious lol. Needless to say I IMMEDIATELY took my mom out of the office and upstairs but she left her Medicare card and drivers license behind. We were promised someone would walk upstairs with her card so we didn't have to be near the exposed people. They said since they had no help they could "mail it to her" um how bout NO. We go back downstairs to get it and the doctor was at the door she says I just want my cards someone was exposed to Covid and I don't want to be here. The doctor had NO MASK ON. Hands her back her card and told all the other patients it wasn't true and the woman in the back didn't have COVID. Oh, really? So I guess I don't know what I heard that she was exposed yesterday in a car with someone who got a positive test today. How do you know she didn't have COVID? She obviously hadn't been tested and beyond that why is a doctor walking around with no mask on? Bad business shame!!!!

The office staff was so disorganized and unhelpful that I did not even get to see the doctor and had to find another retina specialist in the nth hour. Horrible experience!

I was referred to this office by my regular optometrist. On my 1st visit, the doctor was over one hour late in arriving and all appointments were delayed. Speaking to other patients in the waiting room, there were several that said delays are common with this practice. When I finally had my exam, I had to ask the Dr. about the delay and he just replied that he had to cover for another Dr. but offered no apology whatsoever. On my 2nd visit, I scheduled the very 1st appointment in the morning. When I arrived, the office was not even open for business yet and there were several patients waiting for 15 to 20 minutes before an office worker in the same complex informed us that there have been several similar occurrences of no one showing up recently. So I called the main phone number and was told they had a Dr. quit recently so they haven't been able to fulfill all their appointments. Why they didn't call & inform us prior to the day of the appointment is beyond me. When the call center rep asked if I wanted to reschedule, I replied that I would like someone to call me back & explain why I should continue to do business with them. It's been over a week and no one has contacted me. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Have been a patient here for 4 years. There is no doubt they are very good at what they do. If you have a retina emergency, you would want them, without doubt. But they are very disrespectful to their patients' time and experiences. It is very scary to lose your vision, even if only for a short time. It results in anxiety moving forward. That anxiety shouldn't be met with derision, outward irritation, refusal to schedule appointments, or telling the patient they "are crying wolf;" particularly when you consider the patient only requested 2 check ups in a 2 year time span. Appointments that are always paid for on time. As to the comment about having long waits, this is true. It seems to partially just be the nature of the specialty - when things happen to your eyes, you need treatment quickly to prevent vision loss. It also seems to be an inherent part of their business structure. I have been there 10-15 times, and I have never waited less than an hour and a half. My first time, I was told I needed to get there immediately if I wanted to be seen -- then I waited 5 and 1/2 hours. I feel bad for the receptionists - it's obviously not their fault. But it is also incredibly disrespectful to their patients. Despite the quality medical care, I will never go there again. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to someone in an emergency.

Useless diagnosis and ridiculously overcharged for a 5 min exam. Called them to discuss but they were very rude. I won't be going back.

Disgraceful! Inexcusable! It should be no stars. My husband had an appointment. He was told he would be there one hour. He arrived on time and after 10 minutes was taken in for drops. After being there 1 hour and 15 minutes he still hadn't seen the doctor. I asked the receptionist and she said the doctor had to come from some hospital. I told her she should have said so when we arrived. She did not respond. After another 10 minutes I asked how much longer it would be and would he be done by 3:15 which would have been 1 hour and 45 minutes. She said he would be taken to a room shortly but would not be done by then. My husband made the decision to leave. He told the receptionist that he was leaving and that there had better not be a bill from this doctor or his office. There is no excuse for this type of inefficiency or a failure to communicate to patients the moment there is a known delay.
