The best corned beef anywhere! So good that when I walked in they actually had to cool a fresh one to cut it! I’m not sure I even realized they cook it themselves! Now I know why it always so fresh and good! Great staff as well! You don’t have to keep kosher to appreciate a really delicious butcher! No time to cook they have you covered ?

Under new ownership as of August 2023. Very friendly and accommodating staff, the food is terrific and the menu has expanded. Don't pay attention to the older negative reviews, the previous manager of the restaurant no longer works there.

This is "kosher lite" hence don't bring guests that really take their kosher serious. The certification comes from an individual Rabbi and not a recognized institution that is universally depended upon and trusted. For a dependable opinion on this subject I would conduct with a local Chabad Rabbi. The issue is not the quality of the food or the service. The issue is that by promoting false information about something that is very important to the more observant Jews they are doing something very forbidden. They are "...putting stones in the way of a blind person".

I’ve been coming to Sunset since I was small enough to fit in the cart! It’s so rare to still find grocery stores that aren’t corporate. I loved bringing my husband here so he could see what a grocery store should really be like!

Always good. This time I had a skirt steak sandwich, then stopped into their deli to get matzo ball soup, chili & hot dogs. Always worth the trip.

We stopped in for some good corned beef. Excellent warmed on rye with mustard. We live in southern Indiana and don't have access to these types of foods. They were very busy Wednesday before Passover with lots of orders ready for pickup.

Would give negative stars if it was an option! What a POS business this is! I placed an online order for a gift for my parents and received an immediate email confirmation of the order stating that I'd receive another confirmation with shipping cost and tracking info. I didn't receive anything further for a few days so I followed up with an email...no response, so I sent another email a couple of days later...when I didn't receive any response after a week, I called and waited after they answered the call and put the phone on the counter for over 5 min's so I could listen to them talking and ignoring their waiting customer, then the a-hole who eventually came to the phone tells me they don't take online orders. I wasn't sure how to respond to that other than to inform him that they, in fact, do take online orders and that he needed to check his website. The rude POS then cussed me out and hung up on me. WTF?!? Do not do business w/ these jerks!

They are rude and not helpful. Go a little further to Skokie/Chicago or even Costco (Glenview) frozen for high-end (grass-fed)reasonably priced kosher meat.

They are always rude and not helpful. Go a bit farther to skokie and have a better experience at the other kosher meat providers.

Delicious fresh kosher meats, plus a large selection of frozen kosher home-made food products like wonderful soups, meat-tomato spaghetti sauce, chicken fingers, etc. Also, a small deli counter with freshly sliced-to-order corned beef, salami, etc., home-made delicious hot dogs, salamis, chopped liver, cole slaw, etc. The people are helpful and friendly. I recommend it highly, have been shopping there, happily, for many years.

I love this place and have been a loyal customer for a great many years. They have delicious fresh kosher meats (and will cut them to order if you like), and also freezers stocked with lots of home-made kosher delights such as great soups (including many varieties of chicken soup, of which my favorite is chicken gumbo, as well as lentil soup, split pea soup, etc.), sauces (meat sauce for spaghetti, sloppy joe sauce, etc.), chicken fingers, turkey portions, hamburger patties, etc.), and a small deli counter supplied with delicious home-made delights like corned beef and pastrami (sliced to order), chopped liver, cole slaw, potato salad, hot dogs and salamis, etc. Everything is so tasty! The people there are helpful and friendly. "Try it, you'll like it."
