Never again. I wish they allowed zero stars.$97.00 original quote turned into a $405.00 charge a week after pickup.I setup shipping for a small pallet going a short distance with Central Transport with a quoted charge of $97.00.Central Transport driver showed up. We said let me get our forklift to load it. Driver said, no it's small and light, I'll just get it with my pallet jack.One week later I get a "revised" billing for $405.00. Explanations being: Lift gate was used at pickup and "Carrier tariffs allow additional charges due to pickup location" .Lift gate was not needed, it was used because driver insisted. And if there is a carrier allowed tariff, should it not be part of the original quote?Central Transport actually sent me a google maps link showing the location of the pickup as a way of substantiating the outlandish surcharge.So they know exactly where their "Carrier allowed" surcharge comes into play AFTER they pickup, but don't know it when preparing a freight quote.This is the 2nd and LAST TIME Central Transport has added bogus charges onto my freight charges. The first time was similar, except they charged it based on the destination address, which I obviously had no knowledge of.Now I know it's just a pattern with them: Offer a low quote, to be lower than reputable competition, and then come up with bogus surcharges to increase revenue. I should have paid the extra $40.00 and gone with Road Runner, who I have NEVER had problems with.Like I said, NEVER again.......

Damaged our freight, denies all wrongdoing and used loophole to avoid liability because the company that arranged shipment (JB Hunt) did not forward the claim in time, despite being filed on the very same day as delivery. Good luck getting somebody on the phone, the only way to communicate is by email and the responder won't even give you their name. Avoid at all costs.

STAY AWAY from this carrier - the shadiest in business there is. Will rerate loads for literally anything including noting shipping and receiving hours on the bill of lading as "appointment fee". Can't believe they are still operating and customers are still using them. Cheap right off the bat and then a ton of added unwarranted fees right after. Shame on them.

Horrible .I was shocked when I entered that creepy and abandoned looking office . No employees , only one guy sitting in one of the rooms , talking on the phone and no caring of my presence there . That guy I guess is Hiring Manager . I left this horrible place , they don’t care about new drivers , give them attention or simply pick up the phone when they come for the interview ….

Don’t even consider wasting your time trying to get a job here. Trying to reach their recruitment and staffing manager is like trying to get in contact with an ex that broke up with you. Being sent to voicemail every time. No matter who you call, they send you to another department to get things taken care of. Only thing is, it never remotely gets close. Nobody is competent, nobody answers their phone, nobody gives you a chance to even begin the onboarding process, despite being told you’ll get a call within the week. As a cherry on top, their office building is absolutely filthy. You’d be convinced if someone told you it was an abandoned building.

They quoted you a price, then reclass the shipments for additional charges with wrong dimensions and weight that they claimed they reweighed. We used them 4 times recently and this happened 4 times.

The most unprofessional, racist, unorganized company you can possibly work for. If I could do a review with zero stars I would, the management for this company pick and choose who to discipline off race, who to promote off race, they don't do their due diligence to find out who did what when it comes to damage goods. Part time works 8 hrs with no benefits, full time works 12, no safety procedures in place anywhere. Forklifts are outdated and dangerous, bathrooms are nasty, and they have the audacity to have a no law suit clause in the work contract, OSHA really needs to look into this company. Wouldn't recommend working here at all!!!

I worked for them for 3 weeks and the manager Don never gave me my two pay checks and it's also I terrible work environment. It's unsafe and very dirty.

If like working on a landfill smelling garbage all day driving on 40yr old lifts over potholes and broken dock plates into trailers with holes in the floor this place is for you. hazamat spilled everywhere and just push out the openings (they call them doors but of the 231 doors none have a door)
