“Chris was amazing. Took the time to explain everything to me and was extremely friendly. I went to another place and didn’t feel comfortable at all. They made me feel comfortable to sell my coins which I knew nothing about.”
“CarefulPeach is an absolute gem in downtown Oak Park! This cute store is a must-visit for anyone in the area. They have everything from French-inspired items to an impressive selection of wines. It has quickly become one of our favorite spots, especially for their fantastic holiday decorations. The selection is always unique and delightful, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a charming and enjoyable shopping experience, CarefulPeach is the place to go!”
“Marc, Lindsay and Steve bring back old fashioned customer service! They all have a way of making you feel like you're the only customer that matters. After pawning two pieces, I had to come back to the east coast. I received better service long distance than you would get face to face in most businesses these days.
A to Z gives extremely fair prices on pawn items, selling and purchasing from them. If you want fair friendly service, head down to A to Z. They won't disappoint!
Thanks for everything to all of you!”
“Such a little gem! So reasonably priced, so many good finds in these three small buildings. Bobbie and her husband were so sweet, offered us cookies, coffee and great conversation. Will be back very soon ?”
“I have a 20 year old Amish table and chair set that needed repair. The table was cracked and the chairs were wobbly and needed refinishing. Greg did a masterful job in restoring the set to its previous splendor. I can’t tell where the crack was in the table and the chairs are gorgeous. I highly recommend The Furniture Recycler for anything that you think is worth restoring. His price is very reasonable and his work is exceptional!

“Sue is a lovely lady that showed us the respect and dignity for our deceased parents' cherished vintage items. She offered us a fair price and I am grateful that these items, though hard to part with, were going to a nice store, where they will be appreciated, with a sweetheart of an owner! Thank you, Sue!”
“I’ve been coming here since high school and now I have high schoolers. This place is always a delight with friendly staff and wonderful items. It’s a hidden gem.”
“Really bummed that I specifically went out of my way to come visit this jeweler and when I got there the location was no longer operating out of their physical store. Not sure if they have a different store elsewhere or are just operating online now. Their website doesn’t mention a closure nor does their Instagram page where they are still active @goldhatpin. I would suggest calling or messaging them if you were hoping to see something in person. I’m leaving a 5 star review because they offer really incredible pieces. They just seem to be based on Instagram now a days.”
“Tired of following signs that advertise 'ANTIQUES' only to find a buiding full of Beanie Babies, 1970s kitchenware, and your high school yearbook? Sign of the Whale offers none of that. What you will find are authentic antiques - not reproductions - pleasingly displayed in a clean and organized setting. The owners are knowledgeable and friendly and I'll be stopping there whenever I am near Glen Ellyn.”
“Great shop with an excellent selection. I bought some jewelry and a small catch all dish. Shop owners were super sweet and helpful. We had a great chat with them.
Prices were reasonable in general.
Would definitely return if it in town again.
Parking is plentiful.”
“This is a great thrift in a great little downtown area in Glen Ellyn. Lots of great, higher-end decorations and homewares that you don't see in other thrift stores. They had some smaller pieces of furniture like chairs and coffee tables that all looked in great condition. In the back of the store there are racks of nice clothing. I didn't see anything that was dirty, smelled, torn, or damaged.”

“This is the only place to purchase Lanzi Carnel nut chew candy. I called a bunch of different stores and nobody knew what I was talking about. I will definitely be back as the store has alot of random things wives live to buy. The person at this location (wish I asked for her name) extremely helpful and made my experience very nice. A gem to visit if your in Elmhurst!!!!”
“You never know what you’ll discover at Forest Park Emporium! Today this Halloween tree, 34 inches tall! I added the ornaments, lights and the spiderweb scarf. Also this 1993 Trendmasters Halloween Foam Blow Mold Jack o’ Lantern, excellent condition. So dramatic, so vintage, so Halloween ?”
“A fantastic experience working with them. Brian is one of the most knowledgeable and honest person I know. Every time I talk with him, I know I'm getting a good deal.”
“Fantastic vintage shop. Lots of great pieces. Filled with collectible glassware and decor. As a collector and reseller, it’s not priced in a way that works for me but it’s still got a great selection for those who aren’t looking for a crazy steal.”
“I love this place, the stock is always new and the staff is wonderful. So many fun treasures to find. I often loose track of time and they don't ever rush me. They even stayed an hour past close one night and I didn't even realize it. They are the bomb. They price by the lot so the thrill of the hunt is a blast. Totally stop by often!! Highly recommend.”

To whom it may concern,
Altogether, almost 20 hours of my life to show you, what I thought...was the better part of my worldwide stamp collection.
I had placed an enormous time and effort filling in those pages, buying albums. I looked into every stamp, and some even more than once.
I appreciate that I know more what will sell. Canada, Australia, China, Korea, Russia, Tannu Touva, Nyasa, my better sets within Italy, and Dutch Semipostals.
I will have to form an online store to sell those pieces. Thank you for your 45 minutes with me.
Btw, I had spent over last 2 1/2 years, ~$3400, on my collection. I was hoping to hear a number. As a rule of thumb, it is said that dealers would pay 10 cents on the dollar. He would not give me an estimate, since he did not think my collection was valuable, but a few of the pieces, and my Korean, Chinese and Russian collections had salability.
My worldwide collection was not valuable. I had estimated by partial worldwide collection to have estimated catalog value between $30,000 & $55,000. This is not valuable. Also, practically all the stamps must be in very fine albums. Unhinged is best. This is not my worldwide collection. Which is I amixed bag and hodge podge of used, mostly hinged, with few higher value stamps, and many sets, but still more than half empty.
I was told stamp collecting is not an investment but a hobby.
Thank you Dr Friedman for education and your time.”
“A fun & quirky maze with tons to see! Lots of unique items and a great selection of vintage. Debbie was great with providing info and a pleasure to deal with. Came away with a great piece for my collection!”
“A hidden gem in Hinsdale! This unique store sells higher-end furniture and decor with 100% of the profits benefitting Wellness House, which provides support and services for those with, or affected by, cancer. Volunteers staff the store and there is new inventory weekly. Shopping here is a win-win!”
