Edit*I posted this review hoping to get a response since I did not receive a response by phone and it looks like this is settled that regardless of your gymmaster system showing clearly I was charged 6 packs for $238 each and only used 1 pack and you refunded me for 3 packs that you knew the charges were wrong. Trying to get the other two charges refunded is where we ran into an issue which you promised you would correct. Now it looks as if someone signs up for classes and happens to over book whether it is their fault or a system error they will not be fully refunded. Glad that is settled. To be fair the facility is clean and the classes were well organized and my daughter enjoyed them. But as a mom of three I found the parking difficult and getting in and out of the building a hassle which is why we stopped attending. Not because of the over charges. Funny that what I like the most is the biblical references to the fruits of the spirit that were weaved into the training so I expected a more honest approach to resolving conflictsDue to an error in their billing system. Best place in the universe! A lot of support, a lot of humor, and a lot of WORKOUT! I checked out few gym in the area and this one is definitely the best. I love that people there actually behave professional. If you want to finally see results in your workout go there. It's also great place for kids. LOVE IT!

Honestly the best all around small group fitness I have experienced. The ever changing variety of workouts combined with the encouragement and support have helped me loose over 40 pounds and keep it off for two years. Not kidding it is tough but Scott makes it fun and makes you realize your true abilities. He offers a few free sessions so people can try it out. I don't understand why there isn't a line out the door. Come try it. You will see results.

I was searching for a gym in the area and I'm so glad I found Max Fitness. I've been training with the owner, Scott Grove, for a couple months now and he is the absolute best! He is not just your average trainer, he is truly a teacher. He is experienced, fun, upbeat, and knows how to keep you motivated. He's also really patient and has the amazing ability of making me feel really athletic even though I am probably the most uncoordinated person ever. I'm starting to see some subtle results, and I know that with Scott's help I will soon be in the best shape of my life! Scott keeps workouts interesting by mixing it up-I haven't repeated a work out yet since I started training with him. He designs the workouts to be challenging, and definitely pushes you to your limit but not over it. I love that Scott pays attention to detail and personalizes my workouts. He makes sure I use proper form to prevent injury, and changes the routine if I'm having trouble with a specific muscle group being too sore/overworked. He also incorporates the things I enjoy into my workouts. I am not one of those people who loves working out, but Scott has changed my mind. He not only makes my workouts bearable, but FUN! I have yet to try the fitness classes Max Fitness offers, but I have no doubt that they are amazing based off of my experience with Scott. If you're looking for a great trainer who is experienced, knowledgable and upbeat, Scott Grove is your man.

All I can say is outstanding. I have a son with significant adhd and Sensei Grove is a magician. Scott has been working with him individually for 2 years, and the transformation is amazing. He's now able to do classes with the other kids and be part of the group and recently got his yellow belt. Respect, behavior, focus, pride in his accomplishments, and a sense of belonging are all things my son gets from his involvement at Max Fitness. I think the best thing is Scott's creativity. From coming up with special drills to having training in the park using fences and playground equipment, no one does it better. There's a reason Scott doesn't do a mandatory 6 month contract like so many other places. It's because the quality of the service speaks for itself. Karma P's review looks like a fake to me. You gotta wonder about people from 30 miles away claiming to have a disabled kid and then posting a stock photo of a girl. All the reviews posted on the same day, etc. and then recommending a place 30 miles in the other direction. So yea, karma P - I'm calling you out. For those of us that really have kids with special needs, quit hiding behind a fake name.

Have been training with Scott Grove, the owner, for over 9 years and received my Black Belt with his training! When I came back from college, I was looking to keep training and he opened this gym right in beautiful downtown Hinsdale! He is very knowledgable with fitness and knows how to find results. He comfortably pushes you to your limits so you can break them and see results! I am also a local coach for high school students and I have recommended his programs to both my team as well as parents! Great for cross training for any sport and he will even tailor your workout needs into his classes for you if requested! G.R.I.T (Gravity Resistance Interval Training) is his most popular group fitness class that will leave you feeling accomplished each time you leave the gym. It incorporates bodyweight/band/weighted exercises that can be scaled to any degree based on each individual person. Also, the people are all encouraging and very friendly. Not many places can say they are a "Judgement Free" zone. He truly wants to see you succeed and push yourself to a new level. He is a true believer in helping you experience something you never have so you can accomplish something you never thought you could. There is a reason he has been my lifelong friend and trainer all these years. Come ready to train hard and make friends! Highly Recommended

I have been going here since October of 2013. I have never experienced a workout like this! Scott is innovative with his class design. The workouts are challenging and Scott will push you to do your best. He will modify the exercise for any client if it is too difficult or if you can't maintain proper form. He focuses on correct form and the safety of each client. The classes are positive with every client helping to motivate each other. I have never been in better shape in my life. I can not express how great this gym and owner are.

I am somewhat new to this area and I was not sure of what gym to join in the vicinity. I decided that instead of joining one gym I would buy several fitness groupons to try some different places. I am so glad that I tried Max Fitness. Scott, the owner, has developed his own fitness philosophy which he calls GRIT, gravity-resistance- interval-training. This is a group fitness class during which he incorporates, body weight resistance, some free weights, kicks/punches and high intensity exercises non-stop for 45 minutes. I consider myself fairly familiar with many forms of exercise, however, some of the exercises worked deeper into my muscles than I have ever felt before. The gym has a very friendly atmosphere. Scott is very sincere, positive and extremely knowledgeable. He pulls the members together to create a team like environment. The motivation and the energy is quite high. For anyone that is ready to try something new, anyone sick of the standard prescription of "lift a series of weights, then do some cardio, 3x a week," and anyone that wants to see real results, then this is really the right place for you! I went there initially 3x week and immediately saw results. Yoga, martial arts, personal training for all ages are also offered.
