Contacted Holland Hardware for repair of a damaged dining chair. Because the dining table is pretty old (it was purchased used over 40 years ago) replacing it with a new chair would have required custom building at a high price. Holland was able to repair the split wood, install new dowels to replace the broken ones, and reattach the broken leg to proved a sturdy, solid dining chair.they did this in a timely fashion at a very reasonable cost. we are very pleased with the service.

This place is the best. I had been going to an expensive lamp repair shop very far away (north side of Chicago), but when I went there I was told by the ever-more-grouchy owner that the chandelier I'd purchased on Etsy and had imported from Europe should be returned because it would be too expensive to fix. Took it to Holland Hardware; they said no problem and had it back to me in a WEEK for a fraction of what the other person told me. Also refinished a darkened brass mid-century floor lamp and it looks incredible. Will go here first for all my lamp/lighting wiring and restoration needs from now on! Great work and very kind people.

Holland Hardware is a gem! I took two very old lamps I'd inherited in for some restoration work. They did a great job and their prices were very reasonable. Since these lamps were very valuable to me personally I had to have a high level of confidence in order to "turn them over" to be worked on. Very happy with the result.

I wish I could give them 10 stars! They are the best! They are so willing to help with everything, so caring and do a great job with all my fixes, repairs and painting jobs. Love them and you feel like they are family. I hope they stay in business forever since there is not another shop like them.

I wish I could give them 10 stars. They are the best! I have never met someone who was so caring about taking care of my stuff. They are so fair priced, always willing to help, carry things out of the car and go above and beyond. I hope they are in business forever because there is not another business like them. You feel like family when you are there. They have done so many repairs, repainting and fixes for me that I don't know what I would have done without them.

God bless this store! I found it when looking on-line for a lamp repair place. They fixed my lamp and did a great job. They ALSO fix a wide array of items. Look around your home and see what might need fixing! That's what I'll be doing! ? Do you have one of those things that "you'll get to one of these days"? Call them and see if they can do it. Drop it off and get that monkey off your back! ?

I have been patronizing them for literally decades, since they were on Washington St with a big store. They have fixed so many things for me over the years. From a torn screen to replacing the glass on a display door to working on my old brass Stifel lamps. Don't know where I would go if they every closed their doors. Pricing is fair and you will not be gouged.

I have been bringing repairs to Holland Hardware for many many years and have always had excellent repair work done.I have brought lamps that needs rewiring ,broken dining room chairs , screens that needed to be replaced , dimmers put on lamps switches to many other items that needed repair.I can honestly say ,that their workmanship has always been great as well as their pricing.

Found this shop based on recommendation for the refinishing of a 60+ year old floor lamp (not overly expensive, but from my husband's grandfather) that had been painted white years ago. This shop stripped the paint, replaced electrical components, and sold me a fitter. 2-stars for the paint stripping, but shop was unable to address pitting at the base; finish began to tarnish almost immediately and was unevenly applied; electrical work was inadequate as the on/off knob was extremely difficult to turn and would have broken or stripped in no time; fitter was ill-fitting and of non-customary measurements (as I found while shopping for a shade). This was my first experience in having any furniture refinished, so I paid ($250+) and took this lamp home for what it turned out to be. While shopping for a lamp shade, another shop owner could not believe the poor craftsmanship! I found a silversmith in Skokie, paid another $750, and had this lamp overhauled again... I cannot believe that Holland Hardware would even begin to offer services that they are inadequately experienced/trained/stocked to do! Do your research, and take your furniture elsewhere!

Can fix about anything. Hard to find initially, but worth it. Fair prices and timely services. They have fixed three lamps for us.
