I grew up with Gothard teaching in the 70's and 80's. Bill will have ALOT to answer to in heaven for all the abuse and misinformation. But we need to pray & love these people back to Christ. Not condemn them. I saw the effects of the teaching in the leader's family. It was not positive. They are very religious but NOT Christlike. None of the fruits of the spirit are allowed in places like this. Only legalism and rules. No grace, love, or caring about who you are or your identity in Christ. I pray for anyone still in this group or recovering.

Wouldn't change a thing. Gollyjeepersgeewhiz great place to get a new bike that hasn't even been jumped off curbs, through mud, and all covered in the neighbor boy's grease. Just not the cute bikes with blonde handlebar tassles.

Cult, cult, cult. The Duggars from that show with the diddling older brother are a part of this. Also the leader of this place Bill Gothard in Hinsdale was diddling women, well minors, as recent as 2014!

The only reason I know this place exists in the Chicagoland area is because of the Shining Happy People Duggar Family documentary on Amazon. The allegations of its founder Bill Gothard and the purported sexual abuses that occur here should be enough for anyone to avoid this place and the culture of the IBLP. Shocked.

One of my favorite cults I’ve joined in the past few years. For family fun times we got to sacrifice a goat or two. I found my dad here after he left to get milk, I would say he got lost but this place is so fun I think he might have just lost track of time. I’m taking away one star because the leader turned me into a rat when I asked to leave early.

I thought it was my genetics and because of my creation. But it took years for me to realize and say "No, Dolly. It's not you. It's them." I am not a sheep anymore and won't stand for the abuse.

Just a cult oppressing people. The best thing that could happen to these followers and their families is total dessimation of this organization.

This is a literal cult. Don’t go here, your children will be abused.

It’s a cult! My true rating is ZERO STARS!This place should be dissolved for abusive, oppressive ideology!!

This is an actual cult and should be avoided at all costs. They enforce systems of oppression and abuse within their teachings and children raised within this "congregation" are groomed for further predatory abuse. Zero stars is my true rating, but Google requires at least 1 star is given for a review. Just stay away from this place. See the "Shiny Happy People" documentary if you have any doubts. It explains everything my own family members endured.

The mission of IBLP is Christ-centered discipleship for individuals and families by providing resources and events that empower them to impact the globe for Christ. They facilitate family conferences, family camps and host a wide range of programs for young people, adults, and families.

I used to work for this "ministry" and grew up in their ATI homeschool program. Although there are a lot of good people involved in iblp, this organization has hurt a lot of people. It protects and fosters family systems of abuse and neglect and unfortunately taints the name of Jesus christ. Ever since I left this cult I've been in therapy and am still trying to heal from the brainwashing tactics they used on their members. Now I'm trying to get to know who Jesus really is while unlearning the manipulative "biblical teachings" Mr. Gothard preached. It has been a long and hard journey of healing all while trying to not abandon my faith in God. If you are also a survivor of this organization have hope and don't forget that imperfect humans are a false representation of our perfect and loving God. Don't let unhealthy or mislead people ruin jesus's reputation. Go back to the Bible and let Christ show you who he is. Read the gospels and see how loving, kind, nonjudgmental, and nonrigid Jesus is. He loves you how you are and you are not powerful enough to ruin the work the Lord is doing in you, through you, and around you.
