Have been Banking with Republic for well over 25 years and they are always happy and eager to help no matter what your financial needs are, and 3 of my Grandson also are banking there too.

I was angered and shocked to hear of my friend and her husband's experience being racially profiled recently at this bank. Her and her husband are two accomplished, professional black people (not that level of education should determine being treated as human). And your bank called police on them simply for stepping into the front vestibule on a cold day to wait for a share ride, claiming they were "suspicious". REALLY? your training states someone casing a bank is going to step inside and stand still in a vestibule in plain site of cameras for an extended period of time to case a bank? Leaving their faces on camera, talking directly with a security guard? Let's be real, the only thing you found "suspicious" was the color or their skin and your own biases and prejudice. Train and hire better! This is disgusting!

RACIALLY PROFILED BY #republicbank at 9440 Joliet Rd in Hodgkins, IL! This morning we took our car to the dealership across the street and decided to get something to eat while we waited. Being unfamiliar with the area, we walked across the street towards a strip mall. It was too cold to walk to the restaurant we wanted to go to so we decided to order an Uber. We stopped in front of #republicbank to figure out how long the Uber would be. I stepped inside of the OUTER doors of #republicbank bc it was cold. The security guard came out and asked if I needed help. I told him no, we're just waiting for an Uber and it's cold. He said "oh ok no problem". He went back inside of the bank and a lady (the manager) asked him why I was there. He came right back out and said "THEY'RE nervous about you being here so you can't wait here but you can wait next door". I said ok and walked off. That should have been the end of it! We ended up walking a few more doors down to a restaurant and was seated. About 5 minutes later 3 cop cars pulled up. They got out and confronted us at our table. The police asked us why we were at the bank and took our IDs. They told us that the bank said that we were suspicious and threatening and could have been casing the bank. We were totally shocked! We explained what happened while being totally humiliated in the restaurant bc of the swarm of cops. We felt like we were being treated like criminals. We told the cops that we wanted to talk to the people at the bank bc the security guard made like everything was ok. We walked back to the bank and the manager and security guard flipped the story. I asked HOW did you assume that we looked suspicious? What did we do that was threatening? Why did you call the police? They didn't have an answer except that we looked suspicious! The bank manager even lied and said they didn't call the police then ran back into the bank and refused to speak to us. They even refused to give us her name. The police told us that we could file a complaint against #republicbank. We had to walk through the parking lot to get to the strip mall. There was no sidewalk. We kept walking when he told us to, but for WHATEVER reason they still felt threatened. Mind you, I couldn't even get into the inner doors of the bank (I didn't even try) bc security sits right there, so again, how were we a threat when we didn't even enter the bank? Having the police involved, running our IDs, embarrassing us in the restaurant was all too upsetting. Situations like this are triggering and stand as a constant reminder that it doesn't matter how you're dressed, what kind of car you drive, or how much money you have when all people see is the color of your skin. This treatment was totally uncalled for and unnecessary! It ruined our entire day.

The Republic Bank employees at the Hodgkins location are the worst. If you visit this location, please do not expect a friendly smile or good service. Pretty sure the Hodgkin's branch is the equivalent of outer Siberia, where they transfer incompetent and/or ambivalent employees in the hopes they'll quit.

I've been a business client of Republic Bank for five years. I have a commercial loan with them, which requires that my business checking account is held there. If it wasn't for that, I would not continue to bank with them based solely on their employees at the Hodgkin's location. If you are going to bank with Rep Bank, I suggest choosing another branch unless you prefer to not receive anything resembling a pleasantry, and instead appreciate ineptness and ambivalence delivered unapologetically.

I am not the type to leave reviews, but this Christine is very unprofessional. She is very rude and makes you feel uncomfortable. It’s so unfortunate that I will no longer be coming here after so many years. Every time I walk in she never smiles and is always in a bad mood. If you don’t like your job maybe it’s time to find a job you will like!

The individuals working at this branch all treat customers with respect, but I have come to a severe lack of confidence in Republic Bank as an institution. Presented with the identical documentation of my guardianship for my aunt, Republic Bank, alone among more than 2 dozen agencies, refused to acknowledge it. They were given every reasonable chance, offered no reasonable basis for their refusal, and forced our family to spend a couple thousand dollars of my aunt's funds to fight them in court to get an amount that is a pittance to the bank but that means 6 more months of assisted living care for my aunt. Shame. It would be zero stars for the bank lawyers and their evil henchwoman if I could, and only the kind and courteous folks at the branch offer some counterweight to that.
