I had such a positive experience at this store! Went in to look at a specific grill and hopefully purchase it. Was greeted by a female employee (sorry to have forgotten her name) soon after walking in. She was very pleasant and helpful in trying to locate it (wasn't on the floor). The manager Henry quickly checked inventory in back, found one, and "sealed the deal" on my purchase, assuring me it would be assembled and delivered within 3-4 days. Checkout with Claudia was also super personable and nice! Went in again just hours before the delivery to purchase the propane tank. Henry greeted me with a big smile, introduced me to Steve, who'd assembled the grill (was relieved to see he looked like someone who knew what he was doing), and then took me to see my grill that would soon be delivered (I didn't request this). Next, he made a point to introduce me to the owner Mike, and let me know they'd be the ones delivering my grill. Delivery a short time later went great! Thank you to the team at Ace that made this such a positive experience from start to finish! ***I'd seen some of the negative reviews from the past and was initially hesitant to shop here. I'm glad I gave it a chance! Don't let negative past reviews steer you away. Things often change over time :)

This use to be a place that I’d stop at because I like to support small business’ as much as possible, and as a contractor, this is a great way for me to do that. I walked in today and absolutely everything is under lock and key. It now takes 10 minutes to get someone to help unlock the rack device. I’m not talking power tools, Im saying absolutely everything is under lock and key. It’s like stepping into San Fransisco current day.. I live in this community, and I can honestly say that if this ace is being robbed 24/7 then maybe they need to collaborate with the local Hoffman estates police department, instead of modeling their store model like those seen in California, as such treating everyone who walks in like a criminal instantly. This is Hoffman estates, a great community, and I refuse to support a business like that, which views our community as though it’s apart of Chicagos crime ridden neighborhoods on the west side.

One of the clerks told me where I could find a part after searching for this and not finding it I found the clerk again and said it wasn't there he came and looked and he couldn't find it and said I guess I have to order some and then left saying sorry. not much help there.

I love to support small local business but every time I come to this Ace, they are missing the items I need. Shelves are empty and very unfriendly people. Had to track down help and found two young men in the back of the store chatting in the corner. Asked where an item was, and they told me to look in another aisle. Really ? Show me where it is. Spoke to the manager about not finding items I need on every visit and empty shelves, he said " supply chain issues". No apology or anything. Now I know why the store was empty in what should be a busy Sunday at Ace. Home Deport it is then.

Save yourself some time and money and don't shop here. The "help" is rude, disrespectful and condescending. Completely unlike other Ace stores I've been to. No one could figure out how to cut a piece of glass. I had two 5 dollar reward coupons, one for birthday and one for spending money. The "manager" flat out refused to allow me to use them both. Nowhere in the fine print did it say only one reward per transaction. That combined with pretty much downright disrespecting my wife...never shopping here again. A store that would rather save the $5 from being discounted over losing a customer for life is probably better left alone.

Store can sometimes be a mess. There is some good people who work here but there are some who just don't wanna be there. When I needed help I came here for sink parts and their manager assisted and was honest with me.

If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. I was in the area looking for a Ego Edger. I went in the the store, no one spoke at all. Let me refresh, No on else was in the store(so that was a sign). I proceeded to find the item. I was in the store about 10 minutes and no one came and ask if I needed help. Then, when I decided to go toward the register, someone walked in and walked passed me and an employee came out of nowhere and said " My I help you". Needless to say, I left and went to the Ace Hardware in Roselle (Review forthcoming). Overall, I see why no one in there. Poor service.

I usually never leave reviews but absolutely feel the need after my most recent experience at this specific store.The one star comes from a combined experience of two visits.First visit, I went in to drop off a window for screen repair. I enter the store and a woman at the front tells me to go the back of the store. So I drop off the screen with a guy and he tells me I pay before I leave after handing me a stub with window number. He says he will call me in 2-3days once it’s done. I pay and (the women collects the stub) I leave the store.Second visit:About a week later, I return to the store (btw never received a call) to see if my window is done. I enter and go to the back and the same guy who I dropped off the window screen with is there and hands me my screen. As I am about to leave the store, he says I need to pay for the screen. I said I paid when I dropped off the screen as you had told me to. He says no…and looks super confused and says he will get someone at the front.I come to the front and is met by a man (seems like owner or manager). I explain the situation and I am met with this loud and obnoxious attitude and basically accusing me of not paying for the screen. The screen repair was $30 not $300 who would attempt to not pay this scant amount of pocket money? He constantly raised his voice and was just beyond rude while asking for what day I was last here and explaining why and how this is not how things are done. To make long story short, we found the woman who worked the cashier at the time of my first visit and she confirmed remembering me and paying for the window screen repair.Ridiculing a customer before you even get all your facts straight and failing to properly train your employees the fundamental basics of customer service. Seeing how the owner/manager handled and reacted to this situation just shows how subpar customer service has to be at this store. I would never recommend this store. Please go to another Ace and save yourself the time and hassle.
