Erika Russell, a case manager, was rude and lacked compassion during a time when my loved one was dying. She provided no alternatives besides hospice to an individual who wanted to live. As a case manager, her duty is to to be patient focused. However, she seem to only care about moving the patient along. Hopefully, Saint Alexius offers training to their staff to learn compassion during a horrible time.

Well they got my first review deleted so let's try again!Got my dad's leg X-rayed here and after waiting for 2 hours for results, we were told it was just a bad sprain, no break. Doctor says "wait here and I'll bring you crutches and an air cast"Doctor never showed after another hour.We left, went down the street to Physicians Immediate care, and within 30 minutes were told my dad's leg was fractured in multiple places.Always get a second opinion, especially if you go to this place...

is the hospital that violently restrained me and left me even more traumatized than I was before I came in. I came in on an overdose I was literally dying I didn't know if I was gonna live I was terrified I was screaming. No one tried to calm me down they told me to stop screaming then these men and (his family?) I don't know. I counted 8 people ontop of me including young kids for some reason. I barely remember because I am so severely traumatized from this but it appeared to be an entire family holding me down. They held my head and my arms and legs everything so forcefully it hurt so bad. They put me in paper scrubs and they held me down so forcefully my pants ripped you could almost see my underwear. I am extremely scared of being seen or touched. I begged them to get off me I said what are you doing why are you ripping my clothes they didn't care they just kept wrestling me I don't even remember what I did to get restrained I just remember being scared and no one there to comfort me. If I remember correctly this is also the hospital that fed me ANTI PSYCHOTIC MEDICATION. HALDOL. I am not psychotic or diagnosed with anything along the lines that would need that Med. after they fed me haldol MY NECK BECAME PARALYZED AND I COULDNT MOVE. My mom watched me stuck in place terrified, then they injected me with Benadryl so I was almost delirious on so many different meds that I DID NOT need . This hospital created the worst trauma of my life that I think about daily for a year straight and I will never forget the things I remember.

Just went in to the Ascension Saint Alexius ER and ended up in the hospital for two days. Super attentive staff in the ER and the regular hospital, all the doctors were great and all the nurses were super helpful and friendly. 10/10, would definitely recommend to anyone.

Worst emergency room treatment I have ever received. I am a 63-year-old white male this is my hospital and has been for the better part of 30 years as I live in the area. On Monday, February 11, 2023 I drove myself 35 minutes to go to my emergency room when I was an extreme pain from inflammation And some type of viral attack in my upper Bowel. I had been experiencing excruciating pain for the better part of nine hours. I was doubled over and trying to keep from screaming it was the most painful experience of my life. They got me in quickly which was great! But the doctor gave me 2 mg of morphine. Not enough to even have an effect on the level of pain I was in. He refused to do anything more than that and wanted to send me into a CAT scan in excruciating pain and I could not sit still for the CAT scan. Two more milligrams and I probably would have been able to do the CAT scan which I wanted desperately to find out what was wrong with me. It was obvious that they were going to make me the whipping boy for everybody that had abused opioids. Which doesn't occur in the emergency room!! They are way over reacting to the use of pain medication!! I literally decided to leave the emergency room and continue to look for somebody that could help to diminish my pain to the point where I could get into a CAT scan. On my way to Northwestern in Huntley I had to pull over into a parking lot and vomit violently into a bucket I had brought with me as I was on all fours in the parking lot with people watching me and asking me if I needed an ambulance. They endangered me and other people by forcing me to leave the emergency room to seek help with my pain. I have never been treated like this in my life. The rule was always to get the pain under control and then pursue a the diagnosis. I can only hope and pray that those doctors and nurses at Saint Alexis emergency room one day experience something that puts them in a pain range of number 9 out of 10 and then be denied medication that would've at least minimized the pain. I could not be more upset than I am with these doctors and it is five days later and I can't get it off my mind about how they left me in that unbelievable amount of pain so they could say they're doing their part in combating opioid abuse on people that never had anything to do with opioid abuse. This is a heartless and inhumane thing to do to somebody that comes to you knowing for well that you had the ability to help them and you withhold that ability. They should have their license removed as doctors and should be removed from practicing medicine immediately!!

The service and care was excellent- From ER to the time our daughter was admitted to Women’s and Children Hospital. Excellent nurses with special shout out to Raffy, the Charge nurse in Children/Women. He is such a caring, compassionate and efficient nurse. ER nurses Jennifer (NOC) and Ilona (am) was also awesome, prompt and efficient in their role and showed that they really care!

Worst place if you get to emergency. They make you wait a lot and personal is not to professional. Also they are dressed like they go to jogging or to the beach!!!!! If someone comes to emergency that means it’s an emergency and don’t have time to wait. We don’t go to emergency for regular checkups damn it. Don’t make us wait. BUT THEY WANT A LOT OFF MONEY FROM PEOPLE AND INSURANCE!!!!!! Unfortunately I have been here 2 times but next time I’ll drive to downtown or even California it may be faster. So angry!!!!!! This is ridiculous. I’m pretty sure they know how many patients they get a night so personal should be accordingly!!!

I was there for severe menstrual cramps. I was made to wait in an uncomfortable chair for an hour before taking me to a room which aggravated my pain. After I requested that I have severe pain, they gave me IV medication just before taking me to the room. I told clearly that an ultrasound scan was done during 2022 and there was nothing wrong. Still, they have pressed me for the ultrasound again, that is after my pain has subsided. They have sent me a bill for ~ 8000 USD! All they did is giving me pain medication through IV which could have been done through a normal injection. They did an unnecessary ultrasound and charged me for 2 ultrasounds. When I asked them about it, they are saying that all charges are accurate.I am never ever stepping in to this or this organization run hospital. Worst service, the nurses are very rude.

I have severe abdominal pain & history of diverticulitis. This can be very dangerous, even fatal. The ER was packed with mostly sick people. They should make them wear masks, for one thing.Anyway after 2+ hours of waiting while people who came in after me for back pain & were sitting and laughing.... I couldn't wait any longer. I think I will fare better if I just call an ambulance from home. That place has really gone downhill.
