Verizon lies without any shame. I went to them with a phone that was almost fully paid off, and they told me that if we traded in the phone, we would get a $1,000 discount. I asked, "So if we leave today, we would only have $200 left to pay for the phone?" and they said yes.
Today, my mother-in-law decided to go back to her country, so we went to Verizon to inform them that we would be disconnecting 2 out of 10 lines and paying off the remaining balance on the phones. Suddenly, they said the cost to leave was $1,000 and denied everything they had previously told us.
When I signed the contract, they rushed me, saying, "Sign here and here," without giving me a chance to check the details—this was my mistake. I believe they deceive people and do not tell them the full truth. Now, after paying for half the phone, they expect me to pay for it again, even though its current value is only $500.
I strongly advise you to stay away from them!

A warning to others is that the bottom line is that i switched to T-Mobile and the customer service is much better. I was on Verizon autopay for many years without any issues. Then I moved a few times in 2023 and I did provide Verizon with my new address each time. Then a year goes by and all of a sudden they shut off my phone because they claim that the zipcode doesn't match. They will not answer any billing issues in the store and say that it must be done on the phone. Try calling Verizon on the phone and you will not get through to a live person. Instead you'll get "I'm the Verizon automated assistant" and "call us back from a land line". Are you kidding with this customer service? Rocket Science would be easier for them. Another issue was, I went to the store to have a cracked phone protector replaced. The store Associate did replace my screen protector and imagine my surprise when Verizon mailed a package to my house with another screen protector that I had to return to the store. The Associate doesn't know what he is doing or is not trained properly. I also asked for an alternate billing option to get off of autopay. The store Associate could have just told me to pay on the kiosk in the store and I would still be a Verizon customer. The Associate negelected to mention that this is an availble option and a solution to my problem. This has got STUPID written all over it.

I hate to be that person, but I went to upgrade my mom’s phone and specifically asked for it to be activated later because it was supposed to be a Christmas present. Mind you, I asked the representative Mary to verify 3 times that it would activate later to which they said “it’s supposed to”. Not too reassuring, but I trusted them. To my dismay, once I got home my mom was complaining about losing service on her old device and saying she should just be paying for her own service if Verizon is so unreliable. It made me and Verizon look bad. She almost ruined my Christmas present. Lastly, she didn’t even show me the new bill, but just tried to pitch me extra things I had zero need for. I’m extremely disappointed, to say the least. I also asked her to print the receipt for me, and they said it was emailed but I received nothing.

Customer service was HORRIBLE! The manager on duty dismissed me multiple time, interrupted me when I was trying to explain my issues and frustrations with what was going on. I also witnessed her helping another person that was having issues and watching her be dismissive and not listening to the other person. The other employee tryin to help was also not helpful and didn't really listen, and when we asked questions just didn't even seem to know what we were talking about. I've never been treated so poorly when I was just trying to get help with setting up a new line and figure out possibly getting a new phone. Which they didn't seem to interested in helping me resolve the issue at all! While we were there we also overheard another employee saying he was going to take off early, even though there was people in the store that needed help. Just overall very unprofessional from a lot of the staff, and rude. I will not be coming back to this location and will be making sure to not recommend this place AT ALL! Just terrible.

I was told we had a loyalty discount on our account. Since I have been a VZ member for over 10 years and paid all my bills on time. This loyalty discount allowed me to keep my old phone while still getting a new one for like $800 off. This seemed too good to be true so I asked 5 times to verify I could keep my phone. The store manager and rep helping said yes you get to keep your old phone. One month later our new promotion is cancelled because we didn’t turn in our old phone.
This is called a scam. We were then forced to turn a phone in or lose our promotion. The staff clearly doesn’t understand the promotions and the company doesn’t stand behind their staff.
They do this to keep you paying your phone off monthly without the ability to leave Verizon’s service plan.
Do not listen to the staff here, they will lie to sell you phones.

I’ve written maybe 5 reviews in my life, but this is one I HAVE to write. The Verizon Hoffman Estates location is the very best of the best! The manager, Jesse, knows his stuff! He’s helped us; he’s helped my elderly parents. We’ve added lines, changed phones, ported over numbers, you name it. He explains everything clearly: options, the steps we need to follow, and what to expect. He’s patient, kind, and fun to work with! His crew is so helpful, too. (Shout-out to Jacky!) With as much as we rely on cell phones, it’s essential to have someone to trust. Jesse is that someone and his store is that place.

This location has very good customer service! Eric was very friendly and made sure that we understood everything that was going on and made the experience of switching to Verizon very easy and as smooth as possible. I'm very happy with our choice of switching over companies as well as choosing the Hoffman location. Definitely recommend this location!

I went into the store because I left my Samsung phone at one of the stores in the shopping center and couldn't find it. Not only did a wonderful employee, Brandon, I think, take the time to show me how to find it, but drove across the parking lot to make sure I had it. He saw that the phone was moving and wanted to make sure it was in my possession. That's going above and beyond!

When they want to sell they are fast. But to help you with an order you placed they say they are busy. If you want to buy directly there, they may want to assist you quickly since they depend on sales and commissions.
If you want kindness and pick up products, order them online, Amazon or another store with staff willing to help even if you ordered the product online. There are no excuses when you have 5 employees and only two clients. Any of them should serve you regardless.

Maurice is the greatest! He helped my whole family get set up with new IPhones and I even was able to trade in my old Apple Watch and got a new Apple Watch SE!!!!! This store has always given us good service?
