Runnings is a large home, farm, and outdoor store that offers a wide variety of quality merchandise at competitive prices. It provides a friendly, hometown atmosphere where customers can find everyday necessities such as name-brand clothing, tools, pet supplies, auto parts, sporting goods, and farm and livestock equipment. The store is pet-friendly, allowing leashed pets inside. Many shoppers appreciate the good selection of plants, including annuals, perennials, and hostas, often at reasonable prices, especially during sales. The garden section is considered a hidden gem, with some items cheaper than big-box stores like Menards and Home Depot. Customers also find good deals on clothing for outdoor work and outdoor women, along with a decent pet section. The store features a variety of equipment such as mowers, blowers, and hunting supplies, including an extensive ammo section. However, reviews mention some challenges, including being often understaffed, leading to long wait times, and concerns about limited product selection and higher prices compared to other stores. Despite these issues, many still find Runnings a convenient place to shop for a mix of garden, outdoor, and farm needs, especially when looking for sale items or specific outdoor gear.
