Old World Stone exceeded all expectations- service was perfect and they worked with me to install the new countertop next to an existing mirror. Another contractor said It could not be done. Price was very good.

It is a 2023 goal/resolution to give reviews when reviews are warranted. Old World Stone was the best choice for our kitchen countertops. We have had them for less than a week and each day I am so thankful for such beautiful countertops and such an easy process to get them. Home projects can be convoluted and difficult, but of all the vendors we used, Old World Stone is BY FAR the BEST vendor we chose. Sales, measuring, scheduling, and install were flawless. They even worked around a timing mistake I made with grace and it really felt like they cared about the work they do in all departments. Quality people, quality work, quick turnaround. We couldn't ask for more and we are so thankful!

OWS is a 5 star operation. The office called to set up the measure appointment, a confirmation call and a call when the measure tech was on the way. The installers were professional but did not rush the installation. They made sure everything was perfect and they cleaned up and swept the floors. Great Job, exceeded our expectations. Would defiantly work with them again in the future.

OWS went above and beyond every aspect of providing and installing a truly breathtaking countertop. From the moment we began working with them in selecting a pattern to the install, they were knowledgeable, friendly, outstanding customer service, skilled and professional. Recommend them without reserve. THE BEST!

They might have been good at one time, per the reviews, but have definitely turned south. They are a "shut up and pay up" shop. Old World Stone began well enough. Unfortunately, it only took about a week to start downhill and it became clear their efforts were about minimizing communication, and efforts. COMMUNICATION: After a pleasant exchange ordering countertops (because we handed them a check) a pattern emerged of poor communication, emails unanswered, representatives not listening, and obvious lack of customer service. They acted like I was serving THEM instead of them serving me. Is THAT what I paid for, "shut up and pay up"? ABSTINENCE and POOR COOPERATION: After measuring the area Jake indicated he needed the make and model of the sink we would be purchasing. My wife called in the information, and then came the first email from Stephanie asking the same information (lack of coordination with Jake) and Jake sent the 2nd email, again, asking for sink make and model. I responded to both emails with the same information, now getting redundant. After receiving sink info requested Jake insisted I BRING the sink to his shop for him to measure - we DO NOT live across the street. I responded he should come to our home and do that, after all - we ARE paying him to provide "service". He insisted I bring it to Huntley. It was pointless explaining I have advanced glaucoma and that highway driving is dangerous for me and other drivers on the road. Finally, he had some guy swing by. At the door a grumpy looking man announced he was there for a sink, which I told him was inside and motioned for him to enter. He looked insulted that I didn't bring it out, grabbed it, and left without a word. That was weird. Minimal effort. GOING DARK: After getting my sink they went "dark" as there was no communication. I had to call one week before the install to inquire about the final measurements they expected me to approve, which they sat on for days, I believe they forgot it. Stephanie did get Andy to begin moving but the price had been bumped up. CONCERNS: Seeing things that troubled me, communication problems, poor service issue, obstinate employee, minimal service, I echoed my concerns to Stephanie who passed them along to the GM fearing I might cancel the order. He called back with PR fluff but essentially the guy's general attitude was "shut up and pay up". He soothed me enough to where I felt I should go ahead with the install AND he said I'd get a call Thursday with the time on Monday, AM or PM. The call came late Friday not Thursday. If you say it then DO IT. PRICE CORRECTION: Andy added a couple hundred dollars onto the estimate for a dumpster based upon the GM's discussion who misread me. I had explain I already had that covered so remove that pricing and adjust the estimate, which they did. Communication, again. They took a couple hundred off the price. GOING DARK AGAIN: There was no call on Thursday indicating Monday install time, it came late Friday afternoon before the install. Look - when someone (I'm paying) tells me they will do something I damn well expect them to do it. INSTALL: 3 guys show up, one spoke English as a 2nd language, the other 2 spoke little if any English. So, I can only communicate with male number 1. Not good. Overall they seemingly did a good job, they dropped in the sink even though their boss said they would not. But they left a mess under the sink that my plumber was upset about, having done poor work. Then we discover caulk on cabinets even though we left dozens of towels for them to cover everything under the counter. Messy work. And they did NOT caulk the sink they installed. NO FOLLOWUP: After the installers left no one contacted us to make sure the installation was done to our satisfaction. Once the check was in hand we never heard from Old World Stone again - they went dark. It was if we disappeared, or maybe they disappeared. CONCLUSION: There aren't many quartz counter top installers around so consumers are limited

I have attached many pictures of the poor fabrication job of our Quartzite kitchen countertops so you can see how poor the job was and why I highly suggest avoiding OWS. I am sure they do quality work (sometimes) but our job with quartzite was absolutely terrible especially for the 15k+ price tag. They do not stand by their work, they stand by the money you "owe" them. We purchased Quartzite kitchen countertops, Quartzite Bathroom Vanity top and 2 shower niche cuts from OWS. Our trouble with Old World Stone started months before the install of our kitchen counters. OWS contacted myself and our designer and told us that our shower niches were ready for pickup and we the remnant was ready for viewing. The next day, I drove 90 minutes to their shop . Upon showing up, I was told that the shower niches were not ready and the remnant was not pulled out. I was obviously pissed and I wish I knew that this would be the least of our problems going forward with OWS. We decided that we wanted to miter the island edge, but we had many concerns about the stone chipping. We were told that the stone could chip but the fills would hardly be noticeable. We asked for a sample but could not get a firm date on when this would be delivered (they kept saying maybe today). Mary Beth, our sales person, told us not to worry and that OWS stands by their work. We decided to go ahead with the approval of the miter edge but said we would still like to see the sample before they cut. I even offered to drive there again. The sample never happened. We were contacted 2 days before the install date with a message "Please Approve" which had our countertop drawings and layout attached. This was very fishy. We had many questions regarding the seams, dimensions, etc but were rushed to approve the drawings. Very unprofessional. Our counters arrived and the corners of the island were obviously in bad shape with poor fills and unfilled chips. I could not believe the stone made it out of the shop like that. Our on-site tech filled one chip and then decided to stop because there was too much to repair. He suggested not glueing the island in in case they need to take it back to the shop. He agreed the fabrication was not good. Additionally, the tech chipped our stone drilling a hole for the faucet. Unfortunately our faucet will not cover the chip so they had to fill the chip. This will now be forever noticeable. A few days later, Mary Beth (sales rep) showed up. I assumed she would arrive, apologize for the incomplete install and fabrication and help us with next steps. Instead she arrived glowing about how beautiful the stone was, how great the fabrication was and went straight into a sales pitch about how amazing OWS state of the art machinery and water filtration is. She did this multiple times ignoring my unhappiness. Ultimately she was trying to convince me that I should just accept it and pay. Very unprofessional. It was until the very end when I demanded that she get someone out to fix and finish installing the stone that she agreed to send someone out. I was not contacted for almost a week. The head of the fabrication shop showed up and did some repairs and finished the install. Of course these "repairs" were repairs that were supposed to be done prior to delivering the stone but did not address the huge cracks at each corner, poor color match and the jagged cuts along the edges. OWS is okay with an unhappy customer who has a poorly fabricated island and a kitchen sink hole that was botched. I suggest that you not use OWS for anything other than a simple job but beware that their customer service is awful.

I can’t say enough about this company and the employees. Our salesperson was phenomenal and helped us to realize our vision for our bathroom counter top, shower knee wall and shower bench. The installers came today and their work is impeccable! My husband is a contractor and he commented he wished they worked for him. Highly recommend this company!!!

The entire team at Old World Stone made replacing our brown granite countertops to beautiful white quartz a breeze! The process was seamless and took about 2 weeks. We also ordered a Blanco sink through them and couldn't be happier with how everything came together beautifully. I priced out countertops for over a year and they definitely had all of the other companies, including Home Depot beat in price and in service. I especially love Mike the owner who came out and took a look at the job after it was complete and enjoyed chatting with him. Their entire team is down to earth and worthy of your business! Thank you so much, Old Wold Stone!

I only needed a 2'x3' piece of stone for a cabinet top. Neither Lowes nor Home Depot would cut that small a piece. Someone recommended Old World Stone. I went there, told them what I needed and picked out a remnant and they cut it, delivered it and set it on top of the cabinet. Their customer service is outstanding and I highly recommend them.

If you are looking for quality product and quality customer service than look no further. Doing a kitchen remodel and got quotes for countertop from the big box stores. While some big biz had an okay but limited quality section it did not hold a candle to Old World Stone. I strongly encourage people to look here before elsewhere. Andy was helpful courteous and knowledgeable. Btw the pricing includes install !!! Nothing hidden or sent 3rd party. I also love supporting local business. Thanks

Old World Stone did a fantastic job with our new counter tops! From the design process to the installation they were great to work with. They have a great reputation for quality work so I was more than willing to pay a little extra more. I'm glad I did! One of the best parts of the experience was their communication. I tend to have lots of questions and they responded to all of them in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend OWS to anyone looking for quality work. FWIW, I chose quartz over granite after much deliberation. Also, the person I hired to install the back splash was great. Send me a message if you'd like his info.
