Stopped in late on a Sunday afternoon. The place was not crowded, about half full.Nice choice of beers, so many to try. We samples six over the course of an hour. The beers were quite good, with only one being average. Three above average and two excellent. The Kolsch is very pleasant for those not into microbrew ales. The service was excellent, too!Highly recommend Sew Hop’d.

Love this place! Intimate setting. Wide selection of beers. Personal service. And frequently they have food trucks and live music.Updated for Oct 2023The beers are still good, and they have added space - - inside and out. The room inside looks like it could even host a small party. The patio area outside has expanded considerably and includes a "band shell" (a portable stage on wagon) on which their frequent music events take place.

My husband and I are beer aficiandos, we don't drink alot of beer but when we do, we want really good beer. We ordered two Common Threads, the beer was just ok. We opened a tab thinking we have another one when we got there but closed the tab and left. The bar staff was busy talking amongst themselves or drinking a shot. We got food from the food truck but we won't be back

Checked out this pretty cool small brewery in Huntley. It isn't the attention getter that More is, but the beers are great and a pretty sweet hang out. Sew Hop'd is located in the building next to the tracks. Maybe there's not as many to choose from, but they make these with better care. There's some pretty unique ones, and at pretty good prices. A small brewery like this has fewer beers. It's the only bad thing that can be said about it. The part that makes up for this is that the beers are great though. It's about $7 a pint. Pretty comparable to other microbreweries like this. Had a few the last time here. Of the ones that we tried, the best was the Take The Stage. It's a session Indian pale ale. There was also a strawberry cheesecake one that I would have tried if it didn't have lactose. Here's another great local brewery to get some cold ones and chill. It's mostly known for the beers, but there's also entertainment such as live music. There's not really any food, but they have tubs of Von Hanson's pretzels, and there's food trucks on weekends.

Tried to responsibly celebrate my 40th birthday with friends, on a bus with a driver, at some of our favorite breweries. As our group started getting off the bus we were greeted by the owner with a "you're not welcome here". Full disclosure, the previous brewery we were at called this brewery to tell him we're unruly and making a mess. Couldn't be further from the truth. We participated in their activities, were never asked to leave, despite having one sick person in the bathroom, that did not make any mess bc that's what flushing is for. Ends up being food poisoning. The owner of sew hopd said he doesn't care if we ever come back which is such a mature way to speak to people in your community who hadn't even stepped foot in your brewery. We had ordered lunch that was already being delivered there. He said eat it and then you need to leave. I asked why we were being treated this way and he told me what kishwaukee brewing had told him and I said that's not how we're acting and we've been here awhile. We're too old to cause problems, we just wanted to have fun. He did apologize and said we could stay but I felt like a kid being told I can come out of timeout. Do better.

I have been to Sew Hop'd a couple of times now and it's a really cool vibe. If you wanna grab a beer & time with friends, this is your place!! It has a really cool patio area outside & you will often see lots of dogs there. I've noticed at times they have events, live music, and different food trucks.A great beer menu for sure with plenty of unique choices. The service was good, always a friendly face when ordering your beer or asking about drinks. I didn't get great pictures of this place (the food truck lured me in honestly) but I'll be sure to be back & get some good pictures of all this place has to offer. Try it out, it's a great spot to meet up with friends!!

I was part of a 40th Birthday Celebration on Saturday September 9th that was greeted by a man that didn’t bother introducing himself but rather told us that we weren’t welcome at the brewery because of a phone call from the previous brewery stop. The information that was given to him was false, but he didn’t bother asking any questions about that. After a brief discussion it was agreed that we could stay as long as we “behaved since this is a family establishment”. We stayed for a bit then left. I personally won’t be back since there’s better breweries in the area.A brewery is not a “family establishment”. It can be “family friendly” and yours is when the weather is nice, with a large outside area for the kids to run all over the place while the parents drink. Even in front of the food delivery cars that had to stop in order to not hit them. But don’t worry about that, let’s worry about the bus group that’s literally doing nothing but spending money in your “family establishment”.The only reason you decided to “let us stay” is you saw the amount of people we had and then you saw $$$$ signs.
