Trail of Tears State Forest is a beautiful outdoor area perfect for family adventures and nature lovers. Visitors enjoy the scenic drive-through trail, which is especially suitable for those with mobility restrictions. The forest offers a range of activities, including camping and swimming in designated areas. Campsites are spacious and well-spaced, making it a great spot for hammock camping and enjoying the peaceful environment. Many visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, with minimal noise from other campsites, and the stunning views from the bluffs add to the experience. The campground has a long, winding road that requires some patience to navigate. It is recommended to visit the barn first to check availability, as the reservation system can be tricky, and online reservations are not available three days ahead. Campsites with lean-tos are available, providing shelter and safety. The area is known for its beautiful scenery, perfect for outdoor fun, but visitors should be cautious when driving, especially during or after bad weather. Overall, Trail of Tears State Forest is a quiet, scenic, and enjoyable location for outdoor adventures and camping, offering a chance to enjoy nature in a peaceful setting.
A very somber experience. It's a very silent hike. No talking during my short hike.😒

Trailer of tears is a good place to take your family on a quick outdoor adventure. You can even take the kids swimming in there swimming area. Going down the hills after going to lookout point was my favorite though. P.s. watch out for others though don't want anybody getting hurt.
