Double M Campground is an excellent and friendly campground known for its amazing and super friendly people. The owners and operators are great, making everyone feel welcomed, comfortable, and part of the family. It is a perfect place to stay while enjoying the natural beauty of the area, with several trails heading out directly from the camp and access to trailheads right from the campground. The campground has a wonderful restaurant with amazing food at great prices, including items like Hamburger Steak and homemade sides. A common complaint is that the restaurant is only open Friday through Sunday. The site has mostly permanent sites that seem well kept, along with stalls for horses featuring mats, though bedding is not provided. Bathrooms and showers look clean, if a bit outdated, and there are port o potties throughout. A small playground is located near the offices. While cell service is spotty, the main building has wifi. The camping fee may be cash only. A noted negative is that the camp is not very close to scenic areas like Garden of the Gods, requiring a drive of about 25 miles. Overall, it is a pleasant stay with nothing bad to say, and visitors report they will be back.
