After finding mold growing in my bathroom, they blamed it on me. Despite the fact I had only been living here for 6 months or so. They “treated” it with bleach only for it to come back a few weeks later. It was very obviously painted over from when someone had lived here before me; something I’m sure the apartment maintenance was instructed to do. Now I’ve found even worse mold growing in my closet. Both the walls are on the other side of the ac unit which is locked at all times so god only knows what’s going on in there. They love to cash your rent checks for their overpriced apartments but are quick to cheap out on the maintenance. The mold spread also to the bed frame I was storing in my closet which is now completely ruined. I know they will take 0 responsibility for this. Didn’t save the mold pictures from the bathroom but I have the closet

Update after 3 Years: I have officially lived here 3 years now and have just renewed for a fourth year. I stand by everything I stated below. Rent is extremely fair for apartments of similar quality in the area. The place is QUIET! Yes all apartments have some noise, but I have never had an unreasonably noisy neighbor. Everyone is very friendly. The staff is great! Renewing your lease is easy and hassle free. The maintenance staff goes absolutely above and beyond.Previous comments: I’ve lived here for 1.5 years now. The rent is very fair for the area. The buildings are quiet and well kept. Maintenance staff is very responsive and does a great job. The front office staff is very nice and responsive. They have also been taking the time to update the buildings (new paint, etc) and upkeep the grounds (new flowers, signage, trees, etc.)

The management of the complex is transient. The company does not treat them well otherwise, hence there are no response from the management for either good or bad reviews.1) Snow removal is pretty much non existent. They do have a company that plows a very small path in the main parking. Forget about the walkways or within 7 feet from your car.2) They do not vacuum or clean the common areas inside the buildings: Period.3) They have a couple of large trash containers for the entire complex. Usually they are overridden with trash where people will put their trash bags outside the container because it is full. You will have to walk up to 1 block to dump your trash in one of these containers.4) If you want to go month to month after your lease while you coordinate stuff your rent will almost double. It is ridiculous.5) Forest Pointe tenants should organize so rent control is implemented in North Chicago. Although the address says Lake Bluff it is actually North Chicago.

I’m a real person and this is a real review. If you plan to apply here, Dan is the go to man. He was very patient with me and understanding of my situation. Although I didn’t end up staying here, he was very helpful every step of the way. I would definitely stay here in the future. This apartment was my back up due to the loss of my previous first choice. When my first choice became an option, again, I had to to jump on it. If I didn’t, and would have chosen to stay here at Forest Pointe, I would’ve had to wait about 4 or 5 weeks for my apartment to open up and I don’t have $3000 to stay at an extended stay to wait. Again, my overall experience was good and I would go through with it again.

This is an okay place but is overrun by unruly kids and dog owners who do not bother to pick up after their pets. There is dog waste everywhere, even on walk ways.Management does not care at all.

I'm going on my 2nd year at this complex and can't say enough about how well the management takes care of its property and renters. The manager and staff are extraordinarily kind and thoughtful, and see to requests in a highly timely manner. They welcome pets, have a nice pond on the property to walk around, and well maintained sidewalks and driveways (especially imporant in the winter months!) I love my unit, and plan to be here for awhile.

For the price you pay you are getting poor quality and poor maintenance. The maintenance folk who work here are good people with good intentions but it’s clear they don’t get paid enough to care.I do not recommend renting out here

I just want to give a huge thank you to the maintenance guys who saved the day. I locked my keys in my car and they came quicker than roadside assistance. These maintenance guys have been a big help since the day I moved in. I appreciate all that they have done. I have to say forest pointe apartments have been the best apartments I’ve ever lived in. I even had good customer service with the manager and his associate. I would definitely recommend Forest Pointe to anyone who is moving here.

The 2 stars is for location only. My husband and I live here solely because of its location to the Navy Base. The apartments that are “renovated” are just the old apartments with a little make-up. Nothing but problems since we’ve moved in. We live in the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom option which I believe is the priciest of the options....I dread writing that rent check every month for this dump. The management and office staff are a joke. The staff changes so frequently it’s hard to keep up with whom works in house and whom don’t. The property manager when we arrived in the area was rude and arrogant...amongst other not so nice adjectives, but “Dan the man” whom replaced her is everything she was and more....not good. This place is overpriced due to the Lake Bluff address....don’t let the address fool you, this place should have a Waukegan address...and prices. DON’T DO IT!!!

Who closes the pool at 8pm?! I come home from work at 6:30pm, so i have only an hour to enjoy it. It is still bright outside, warm, perfect to be there, but no, they close it, so the girl can be done cleaning by 8:30 and leave. Ridiculous.

Happy to live at Forest Pointe! It's extremely expensive, but we love the location so much we are willing to pay. We'd love to see more renovation for the price, but otherwise, this is a pleasant place to live with quiet neighbors and excellent location. The pool is lovely in the summer time and the office staff is helpful and friendly.

This is not worth the money you spend here. Don't move here unless you are looking for a short term situation.
