As I come home from a shift downtown Chicago I stoped long side the route 22; 7-11 that was headed by a gentleman named Dave. His rude and unprofessional ethics ended my night in an upset fashion.

The worst 7-11 for customer service in the mornings. The dark haired lady is so rude to me and I feel it's because I'm a woman. She will never say hello when I walk in but is quick to greet all the men. So obvious. When I try to cash a lotto ticket she always says, "how much is it?" The amount never matters because she will always tell me that she can't cash it. Why do they even have lotto then? Another reviewer posted that the guy at night is racist, I wonder what you call this woman? I feel just as bad when having to deal with her. I have to drive a little out of my way now but I'm not giving this place another dime.

The store and location are great.
The employees don't have a clue and will not listen to a regular paying customer. Simple visit to get Lotto Tickets. First they tried running my cards. They say they won't work unless I check the void circles on all cards. I explain that the cards have been used for the last three weeks at this location and others with no issues. I have been playing the Lotto for over 40 years. I explain that there is a problem with the machine. She states that's the way its is and she has everyone do that . Again I now tell her it is not the norm. Again she states it must be done with the void spot filled in. The line is growing behind me and I tell other to go around. Now the Clerk can run my cards. One card gets run twice, so I point out the mistake. Clerk now looks at me and says that it is my card. I ask her to show me and she can't. She said that there is nothing she can do. I again said that the machine is not functioning correctly and again she now tells me that the machine is fine. This 7-11 needs a tune up on the lotto system machine, then the lotto company needs to retrain the clerks in correct operation. The management needs to traine the clerks that they are not always right, in fact it should be that the customer is always right.
The last items are that this clerk would not take any responsibility for anything. she even defended the machine. I asked if there is a number to call regarding the lotto and again she stated "NO and there is nothing she can do". I payed the extra amount with the hope that I can win double. Went to the Illinois Lotto Website and guess what, they have a number and I called and talked to a real person, explained what happened and she said it sounds like the machine is not working 100% and that the clerk may not be using the system correctly. She also told me that you do not need void on every game and card, only if you make a mistake. The problem is that the 7-11 store needs to call the lottery service up to get things fixed, but again the clerk would not budge at all, she is right and I will take my business elsewhere. P.S. I am a Slurpee fan and 50% of the time they can't keep the machines running.

What can I say? It's a 7 eleven. Has all the sundries and slurpees you could want. A little older and not up to date. It's what you would expect from 7 eleven.
