“I recently stopped into Crescent Jewelers to get fresh batteries for some watches left to us by my aunt. I was actually traveling when I thought I should get the batteries before going home.

They honestly told me one watch was broken and that a new battery probably would not help. I offered to pay them for their time, but they refused to accept money since they didn't really sell a battery for a broken watch.

Crescent is the same quiet unassuming non-chain neighborhood jewelry store that I remember from years ago when I stopped in for a small repair I believe.

I haven't ever bought jewelry there because Crescent sells demure, understated and reserved styles. I get the impression that their Pandora selections are as bold as Crescent will ever sell. I make my own beaded charm style jewelry.

Lucky for Crescent, demure, understated reserved jewelry styles and Pandora are HUGHLY popular with younger buyers. I see young women wearing these soft styles all the time, especially thin gold choker necklaces with tiny pendants.

But not so much with older folks who rock jewelry styles like they are still living in the 80s and 90s. Of course Crescent maybe has bolder styles in inventory but not on display. I should have asked.

But I did notice something very BIG at Crescent tho: several JUMBO silver coins. Actual US Mint 5 ounce silver dollars the size of your palm... way bigger, maybe 3 times the size of traditional silver dollars. I guess I missed these on the Mint release schedule.

Also there is a nice selection of shipwreck treasure coins (I believe they are shipwreck) and emerald pieces I couldn't afford because it was the next to the last day of my vacation. I wish I had stopped into Crescent earlier.”
