Communication with this establishment was horrible, we were yelled at and hung up on while trying to fix an issue.
The rooms are beautiful and clean, but if you need shower you may need to find another place for that. The shower was just a trickle!!

If you are a horse lover you are going to love the decor!!! We found this place last year when we went on vacation. We loved it so much that when we went on vacation this year we made it a point to stay here again. Only thing you should be aware of is if you are short, you will have to work to get into the bed. The beeds are so rustic that they are built out of logs and look like logs. So cute. I just climbed on the top log and that helped me get into bed. Fyi, I am only 5 foot 1 so a lot of beds are challenging for me to get into. We plan on staying here any time we travel this way. Very friendly and kind staff. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Enjoy!

Stayed here a few weeks while working in the area. Rooms are nice and clean, easy check in and check out. I agree with other reviews, rooms are a bit dark and you can hear TV/Talking in adjacent rooms.
Did appreciate having a fan in the room.
Would stay again.

When you check in they have your room key on the counter so you really never see anyone. The hotel is nicely decorated and the room are nice. We have stayed there several times.

The only thing I would've changed is to put coffee makers in the rooms, and maybe a little lounge place on the entrance- like a few chairs and a couch with some end tables, so ppl could sit and drink coffee and talk about the local attractions and whatnot. I like the style/theme, (Western/country/horses, log cabin style bed frames) and it's nice small town country people, seems family ran, and, personally I like small towns and friendly folks. I did make some Dunkin donuts coffee in the lobby, and the lady there actually saved me a cup of it . There were quite a few travelers wanting morning coffee. I got the last cup of what was made, so I made a pot of Dunkin donuts(YUM), to replace the pot with fresh, cuz everyone working was busy with rooms... It's my favorite-lol. Thanks for a relaxing stay! God bless!

Big Horse, was fantastic. Such a cute and cozy place. The service and everyone I came in contact with were amazing. Thank you for everything. May God continue to bless this business.

The self check in, made things so easy. The rooms were spotless, especially for a hotel. The hotel is very cute and the room/bed is spacious. Worth every dollar. Very reasonably priced as well.

The rooms are clean and cozy with enough room for two with suitcases. Shower/bathroom was clean and checking-in/checking-out was super easy. Easy location to find. A gem that some name-brand chains should visit to see how to keep rooms clean.

My boyfriend and I loved staying here! We were traveling on a rte. 66 little weekend roadtrip from Chicago area to Funksgrove and decided to stay the night. I found Big Horse through Google reviews and it did not disappoint. For $98 it gave everything we needed and more, along with a unique place to stay! Convenient self check in/out. It was clean and comfortable and we loved the Amish furniture and cabin like vibe. The Inn provided wonderful extras, such as water and snacks in the lobby, a fan for those who sleep with one, makeup wipes and towel, Hulu on Roku, a fridge, brochures and info for the area, chocolate/mints. The shower was nice and just overall can't say enough about the comfort and cleanliness for such a reasonable price. We will be back!
The Black Maple Cafe attached the hotel was fresh and yummy for breakfast.
As a previous reviewer mentioned the walls are very thin and can hear most conversations but wasn't a bother so much.

I'm very fond of this place. It's definitely not an old, rundown, smalltown inn ... the building is newish, and the amenities are modern. The only downside is what feels like a cold, hard concrete floor under the thin-ish carpet, but the high temp the day I really noticed it was 8°. I've stayed here three times and I will probably stay again in the future. Between the room, the lobby, and the restaurant, everything I needed was in the building. Snacks, coffee (k pods), and other beverages are available 24-7. It's 100% self-check-in & check-out, but the staff is a phone call away.

Booked a room online (live local) through booking.com only to find out when I arrived, not to do this (note at desk). Needless to say, I was charged on my credit card and received no room. I contacted both booking.com and Big Horse Inn, but never received refund (each blaming the other).
