A second review, in case they get the other deleted, as a response to the comments that are also lies...Funny how they can give a response here but play stupid and ignore otherwise. They didn't give the facts. Here is what it is...My son bought the car in another state, not tx, and drove it back. The previous owner was racing it, but my son brought it as a daily driver. There was never anything stated about the wiring, as I was on every call, because I wouldn't have allowed him to put another $5k in it through you people. He is thinking the motor may be a problem, or the way the transmission was put in, because less than 24 after getting from you guys it stopped running down the street, in Libertyville, and smelled electrical. So you mean to tell me he can drive home with it for 10 hours, use it with third gear out until he could bring to you people, but all of the sudden by no doing of your shop, it has a problem. Not to mention, he told you there was a different transmission in it when he brought it, the exact one actually, but your shop obviously doesn't listen or document anything. Just as I mentioned below, you have no information on the supposed replacement transmission. For all we know you didn't actually replace it, because how do you not know the information on why you ordered and put in it?? Yeah he asked you to take it back since it's clear you guys screwed him. How do you warranty something you have no info on??? By that mantra, he could take that trans out, out another bad one in it, and you have to warranty it because there is no information that you have, so you say, and he wasn't given any ? Oh and I didn't co-sign anything, he did you lease to own and the rest of the cash he had for his portion Then I outright paid the rest for him, as he 18, has no established credit yet and just got back from the Army, so he is also just getting back to work. Class act you guys are...You will get lied to, ripped off and left with a broken car, bad service and no real answers after paying $5kfirst ordered the incorrect transmission for the replacement. Then when they did get the correct one installed the Labor on the invoice doubled from the previous promised amount. On top of that the car broke down less then 24 hours later and the shop said it was fine when it left so this is our problem, if we can get it over there they will look at it when they can. When we asked for the serial number, or any information on the transmission, we were told they don't document that because people don't ask for that. We did because we noticed it's not in the paperwork. Now we have a car that's bricked, they won't fix, won't refund and have no information on the supposed replacement transmission. Oh plus we need to pay off $2,400 of the $4,966 within 90 days or that loaned part will have exorbitant interest added making that alone $5k.

Don't waste your money, time, or patience. The service is terrible, they will scam you. How do you warranty something without the information on it?! And within 24hrs of you supposedly replacing it?! first ordered the incorrect transmission for the replacement. Then when they did get the correct one installed the Labor on the invoice doubled from the previous promised amount. On top of that the car broke down less then 24 hours later and the shop said it was fine when it left so this is our problem, if we can get it over there they will look at it when they can. I would like to give a big thank you to the AAMCO in Libertyville for their kindness and consideration to me when I brought my vehicle is thinking there was something wrong with the transmission. I had taking the time to it rebuilt in Iowa about two months before. They were very busy but took it in and in a few days started to check it out. They found nothing wrong with transmission but an engine problem. They returned the vehi6eith no charge. Thank you again, Tony S

They called me and said the brakes were fine, and didn't need to be replaced. I picked it up and they legitimately refused to charge me for inspecting my brakes. I've taken my vehicle to them for other services and repairs and they've been nothing short of excellent. They truly care about their image and providing good value.

Took my RAV4 here thinking I have transmission issues, Justin was really helpful and answered all my questions. It was close to closing time so he suggested to leave my vehicle so that they can inspect/check it free of charge. He called me the next day and told me it wasn't the transmission and gave me a quote. Being a DIY er myself, I decided to just fix it. Told Justin I will just do it, he said no problem. Justin even gave me suggestions on other stuff that might need maintenance when I picked up my car. I will surely refer friends and family to this shop.

I had a really great experience here with Justin the Manager and the rest of the staff. They were very honest and reliable and did not try and sell me anything I didn’t need. They really took time to diagnose the issue and saved me a lot of money in the long run. Great guys to work with and very knowledgeable and professional!Services: Transmission

I seldom write reviews. Seldom feel strongly enough about good care. Today I am writing a review about Libertyville AAMCO, Justin and the transmission technician whose name I unforgivably did not write down. Some background: I came to them because of the national name and reputation, I read the reviews, and they were good. I also came to them to check out a "transmission leak", which turned out to be a boldface lie by another company elsewhere. Justin is professional in demeanor and offers cautious guidance and excellent customer care. His technician, the man under the cars, was thorough as well as cautious too as they came to the conclusion that my transmission leak was in fact an oil pan & turbo seal leak, both major oil leaks. I left my car on a Friday Afternoon feeling (wrongly) vulnerable and picked it up on the following Friday, ( could have picked it up on Thursday if I had bothered to look at my text & voice messages ), feeling that I had found a business I could trust and rely on in the future. I will be back.Robert M
