I almost never leave poor reviews for companies because I feel badly, but I had such a poor experience with College Hunks I feel I would be doing a disservice to others without sharing. I will never use them again, and will always tell my family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, etc. to refrain from doing the same. When we went with College Hunks, the rep that came to the house quoted 4.75 hours, but said it really should only take his movers 3 hours as the majority of our items were already in boxes or stored in the detached garage and ready to be placed directly into the truck. This in-person quote also matched up with the phone estimate given beforehand that took 1.5h. This ended up NOT being the case. It took the movers over 6 hours, and they did not even complete the job! There were several items left behind, so much so that my husband and dad moved the remaining things the following day nonstop from 8a-4p. These were heavy, big items (outdoor patio furniture, peloton, weights, lawn care equipment, etc.!) We were only quoted for 1 truck, but 2 trucks were obviously needed- how are we supposed to know this? They are the experts, and the rep should have advised. They actually do send college kids out to perform the move. Three 19 year olds were sent for our job. This left 1 out of the 3 to "direct" as the other 2 actually moved items. My husband ended up helping the boys for 4 of the 6 hours because he saw how inefficient they were performing, and how they needed help- we are paying for this service, he should not have had to help! They were kids, checking their phones inbetween moving items, joking around, and incredibly slow. At the end of the day, one of the boys told us that he had worked over 12 hours that day completing a move before coming to us- how is this safe? and certainly that would explain why he was too exhausted to do anything efficiently and effectively for us.Once they finally got to the new house, they did not put items in the correct rooms that I listed, nor did they reassemble workout equipment, couches, etc. that were disassembled to fit in the truck. They broke my daughter's play yard that was already here at the new house because instead of moving it over a few inches, they barreled through with an item and bent it past its ability. My husband called College Hunks that night to complain. They said they would give us $150 back.... a slap in the face. The manager the next day stated that he provide a truck to retrieve the remaining items, but with only one mover and that my husband would have to help. Again, how is this a solution? The manager told my husband to call him if he ever needed anything- so he actually did when we needed minimal junk removal. The manager pushed him off to a kid who called, didn't identify himself, thought he was another customer and was very confused, and then quoted us the standard amount as anyone else when we thought they would ATLEAST cover something for us as they largely messed up our move.I called College Hunks on 11/27 and was met with a monotone, unenthusiastic, mumbling representative. The rep said they did not have access to connect me with the local franchise and that I could only leave a message with her and she would have them call me back. I asked for a time frame that that would happen within and she could not provide one. 2 weeks went by and I received no call. I called again on 12/13 and the rep found no record of my call into them on 11/27. I asked if I could please speak to a manager, if I could have a receipt that I left this message so that I could make sure it was recorded, amidst other questions, and instead of answering anything, the rep kept evading the questions and stating "no worries, no worries someone will call you back ASAP". It is now 12/21 and I STILL have not received a call back. All this to say- their customer service is awful and unprofessional, and their remedy methods to make a wrong situation right, is nonexistent.Do yourself a favor and go with another moving company that is NOT College Hunks. Thanks f

Reached out online for a quote to get rid of an ancient tv and super heavy desk that we had wanted to get rid of for years. Called me back the same day, a Sunday, and scheduled a pick-up that afternoon. They called when they were on their way! Lorenza and his partner were super friendly and professional. Did the job and now I know who to call for moving and getting rid of heavy things! Thanks!

DO NOT USE THEM!1. Behaved terribly, almost alarming. Very unprofessional, one person was complaining and cursing loudly the entire time-- "I hate this f***g job, I just want to get home to my kid", "I am so tired tired of hauling other people's s***!" My 24 year old daughter (who is pretty tough) was so concerned that she kept the dogs right with her on their leash to feel safe2. Carried an old treadmill up from the basement and broke and gouged the drywall in multiple places, drywall will need to be repaired and painted. This will cost me $1000. They tracked dirt all over the carpet, which I will have to steam clean. 3. Credit card machine was "not working", so they asked my daughter to text them a photo of the credit card. Even if that was really a problem with the machine, they cannot and should not ask customers to do that. Who in their right mind would agree to that, and what kind of business would ask people to do that?4. When I really nicely talked to the office manager about the damage and sent pictures, I explained that I understand that this may be the sort of business where it is hard to control such things, and I actually only asked them to credit me half of what I paid to remove the treadmill, namely $125 (no where near what this will cost me to repair). I didn't dream of asking for a full credit or even a reimbursement for the repair because I was trying to show them that I understood what I tough business this must be. THEY HAD THE NERVE to accuse me that the damage was already there and I was just trying to get them to repair prior damage, despite the fact that the photos showed large fresh chunks of drywall on the carpet,

The team of the 3 D’s was great. Very courteous, personable, & professional. I selected College Hunks Hauling because, unlike their competitors, I was able to get an idea of the price from their website. Other hauling services won’t provide any price info until they’re at your home. I highly recommend them!

We had a fantastic experience with College Hunks! Mark and Demarcus were amazing at helping us clean out the attic. When roadblocks came up, they handled them with kindness and grace. When we asked for more stuff than we originally asked for, they agreed with a smile. It was so worth the money. We were hesitant to pay any amount just to get rid of junk but by the end we were practically in tears with relief. Thank you so much for being a part of our journey of moving into a new home that came into our lives full of junk!!

We only needed people to help us load a truck and unload a truck. The guys came on Friday and loaded the truck. They were amazing! Then when we needed them to unload the truck, not only did they not send us a confirmation. They would not return any phone calls. The manager never called us they were so unprofessional. I will never recommend them to anyone. We unloaded the truck ourselves which saved us the ridiculous amount of $500 they wanted to charge. This company is a joke. The guys who did help us move were very professional and very thankful and we were very appreciative that they could help. But the manager whoever he is was horrible and the company should never be recommended by anyone.

Zero stars would be given, if possible. We got a reasonable quote per truckload and hired this company to move a pile of boards from tearing down our deck. When the staff arrived, we got a full assessment and agreed on a set price that was slightly higher, to which we reluctantly agreed. The staff then stopped HALFWAY and demanded double what was originally quoted to finish the job. I think they knew we needed the boards cleared to access our garage again and took full advantage. Very frustrating, disappointing and deceitful.

Booked same day pickup of a recliner we no longer needed. Lorenzo arrived on time and removed our chair in under 5 minutes. Everyone was in uniform and the truck was a newer model. Stress free way to get rid of junk. Thank you College Hunks.

TThe story here is that my family from all over the US cam to Chicago to clean my Aunts house to get ready for sale. Her wish was to donate her furniture to Charity. Your website clearly states donation pickup. My email confirmation stated that to. When reviewing the work order it stated junk removal. How does that happen. You company has dishornered my Aunts wishes and cause great embarrassment to her family. Shame on you company for false advertising. It took 11 days to contact me to tell me the junked what I thought was going to be a donation. The corporate office and franchised us donations IOn the website as ploy to get more business. They do not try make a donation they just junk your stuff. Total false advertising. Think twice using any franchise of this company for donations. Also if you order a empty truck that does not happen. The order taker at the 1800 number gets lost in translation when the franchise reads it. Be wise use another company.

Mark and Mars made everything about the removal of our home goods and furnishings a smooth, efficient and painless process. Obtaining a quote and booking was simple and timely. The team was friendly, efficient, professional and friendly. Worth every penny; I would book again without hesitation. I instantly offered a review knowing I would confidently recommend Libertyville College Hunks.
