September 2022 by Anastasiia G.
An unpleasant story happened to me in this branch of the bank. I run a Russian-language YouTube channel in the USA to help immigrants. My name is Anastasiia Germanavicius. On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, I made an appointment with Alena (a bank employee). I came with a refugee from Ukraine to help her open her first credit card. I had previously discussed with Alena that I would ask questions on the topic "how do immigrants open their first credit card in a bank" I needed this information for the channel. I decided to just write down the answers on paper and later tell on my channel. My questions were quite simple, for example, "What is the period before due date." Alena gave the following answer to my question: "How long are you in America, you don't know how to pay for the card?" To which I replied "my husband does this." Alena answered "then ask your husband how to pay." We spoke in Russian, she began to use professional terms in English. To which I have new questions. Then she began to not politely continue the conversation, shaming me that I have poor English. For all subsequent questions, the answer was the following: "Look for the answer on the Google ," I said that if she refuses to answer, " just tell me this, and we will contact another bank" . She said that she couldn't say much in the bank, I got the impression that the Bank had something to hide, that a lot of information was not available to customers. She just looked incompetent, and in order not to answer questions, she said that not everything can be told to clients. She showed her irritability and dislike for me. Thanks Gleb (another bank employee) softened the situation and we calmly completed the process opening card for my friend from Ukraine. I also ask you to thank Gleb, an employee of this department. He was very friendly and helped us and answered all our questions. I felt insulted and humiliated after talking with Alena. I'm going to tell this case on my channel, I don't want my subscribers to get into this situation in the office at 195 S Milwaukee Ave. Lincolnshire, Illinois 60069. I will find friendlier employees in other banks to which I will refer my subscribers.

The people working there are very nice and helpful but the lines at this bank are beyond ridiculous. Last week there were at least 20 customers in line and one teller. No one has time to stand in lines. BOA needs to change its ignorant approach and start treating its customers' time with respect.

The customer service there is not so helpful, and trying to push you to call center which is useless at all. You have to wait hours to get a chance to talk to someone who doesn't care about what happened but doing the best to find every excuse without fixing their mistake. They lost my money orders after I dropped at the ATM machine there, and send me a letter saying they can not read the amount and the money HAS BEEN deducted from my account! After several calls and branch visits, they told me they will send the original money orders back to me, then I can bring back to them!?... what a surprise? Why in a such way? Make sense? If you still can find the money orders, why can't you verify the the amount and fix your problem at your end?! Three weeks in a row, they are keeping saying the same thing, sometimes they even provide me a case number but it could not be find when I call them the following days?! Really no record! Liars !! I have received several letters saying they can not give me my money because they can not read it, but they never send the money orders back to me. They finally figured out a perfect solution for THEM. They asked me to go to the money orders issuer and ask for replacement. So by now, they are asking me to get the money they lost in their system, still don't want to give my money before they get the money they lost! Okay I can do this. I have contacted the money orders issuer and they told me the procedure. After two weeks, I got the re-issued checks as the replacement of the money orders with fees deducted from the amount. I bring the money orders to THIS Lincolnshire branch at 4pm the day before July 4th, show the front desk that I have got the replacement checks and need to see the lady as being told so because they need to reimburse the fees. It was a couple of minutes past 5pm until the lady got time to see me. At the same time the branch manager started to shut down system without finding customer needs who's still waiting inside. Then the lady told me I can only do the night deposit drop-off outside at ATM If I don't want to come back again. Of course not! Just a minute while I walk from the lobby to the outside ATM, the ATM is put out of service (maybe collecting their money from the machine). S**** They just told me to go to the ATM??!! And shut down the machine? In a hurry to some fancy party, not customer centric anymore? Nicely demonstrated! Before I left the parking lot, the lady came out from inside and spent some time to figure out that there is another drop-off box. During the past one and half months, I have seen that BoA customer service, I mean from call center to branch, is not so friendly, not responsible, not customer centric. They are very good at finding every single excuse for themselves and the company in a way damaging their reputation. This is the most disgusting BoA branch I have ever been, and the worst customer experience. So disappointed. So angry. The only good thing that I can think of now is that I don't have to go the LINCOLNSHIRE branch ANYMORE.

This is our local branch, and I've always been impressed with their excellent customer service. Not something you see very often anymore!

This BoA is never that busy and the customer service here has been very good. I know that BoA gets hit with poor customer service reviews but that wasn't my experience. This branch is clean and airy and my go to branch if I ever need to go inside one. BoA mortgages on the other hand is another story.
