I usually have had great haircuts from this place for years but today was a different story. The second I walked in I knew something was wrong, the hairdresser who ended up cutting my hair asked if I was ready and gave me a strange look. I guess I should have put my jacket on the nearby hook before foolishly stating I was ready. My bad.
She started with wetting my hair or more accurately, she sprayed my face with water and continued to half heartedly cut my hair while asking me a laundry list of questions.
My one word answers and my closed eyes should have been an indication that I did not want a conversation but the interrogation continued. What do I do for a living, do I have kids, do I have a wife, weekend plans, vacation time, the housing market, where do I live, where did I grow up
Not one question pertaining to my hair, Too much was taken off the top even though I specifically said I keep it long in front because I like to slick it back. I was not asked if I wanted my lining rounded or straight. She didn't even bring out the hand mirror so I could see the back of my head when she was finished.
I will be peaking through the window to see if this woman is working before I enter this business again. I will not be getting my haircut from her again.
*UPDATE*
I wanted to update this review on a more positive note. I have come back here twice after this bad experience and both times have been great. The two hairdressers were very polite and got my haircut perfect. My original issue was with my hairdresser (who I have not seen since) and not the business itself. I wanted to make that clear. I would now recommend Great Clips in Lisle. I have updated my 2 star review to 4 stars.

Went to get a haircut today at 4:30pm but the place was closed. In fact, as I was walking up, an employee locked the door and turned off the open sign. Supposed to be open until 5pm. My haircut takes only 10 minutes, 15 minutes max and so it’s not like they would had to stay over. It’s disappointing to see is all.

My last visit was a doozy. I told them who I was when I arrived and they took me right away even though there were 5 people ahead of them and the waiting area was empty. The downside: they printed the wrong ticket and I ALMOST received the wrong haircut. She was about 2/3 of the way through and none of it was familiar. She walked away and I grabbed the ticket and it was for another customer. For an expensive haircut, little attention was paid to what was going on. She apologized, bit I did not even receive a discount from their messup. MY hair came close to being unfixable unless completely shaved bald. For a mistake like that, I should have gotten a discount.

I am a retired hairdresser who always cut my son’s hair (he is 17). I am not up on the latest styles so I took him here. He saw Cece and she was great! Showed her a pic of what he was looking for and she did exactly that! We will definitely be coming back to see her!

I have been here maybe 10 times because it is so close to my house but I can't do it anymore. Every hairdresser treats water like it's a precious commodity and it always results in the most uneven hair cut.
