Husband purchased a pair of shoes yesterday. He wore them for a couple hours and one shoe dug into his heel. He tried to exchange it but manager of the shoe department told him he had to clean the bottom of the shoe before returning it. Dicks is overpriced and overrated.If you like buying shoes that get returned for problems then by all means purchase shoes from Dicks. Let’s not forget to mention the manager placed his hand on my husbands chest- sexual harassment law suit coming.

I went to the soccer section to get some help. I waited about 20 minutes before I walked around to find someone only to see one guy helping 3-4 other people. This is ridiculous especially for a really big store. I have seen more employees in smaller businesses.

This store doesn't pay attention to online order pickup Identification. Somebody bought a bunch of expensive coats with my card and supposedly presented my ID to pick it up but I wasn't anywhere near Lombard that day. The staff is probably colluding with the card scammers. If I ever do go to this store, it will be to dump a bunch of stuff off of the shelves.

Diaz, the sales associate, took his time with me. He is very informative on shoes and also tied in his personal experience. I was convinced on a recovery sandal that after he let me compare, it was a definite decision. We swapped running, shoe and health experiences. Super patient. Great personality and very polite.

I visited the Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Lombard, IL, 2/19/25 to return an online purchase. I never write reviews—but my experience with the manager, Jody, was so shockingly rude and disrespectful that I felt compelled to share.
When I returned my item, the cashier mistakenly put my refund on a Dick’s gift card instead of back onto my original payment method, a credit card. I immediately told him this was not what I wanted, as I rarely shop at Dick’s and preferred my money back. The cashier was very apologetic and spent 30 minutes trying to correct the error, trying on several different registers? And calling their customer service on the phone to see if they could assist, but was unable to do so.
At that point, I asked for a manager, assuming this would be a simple fix. Unfortunately, Jody, the manager, was incredibly dismissive, curt, and outright rude. Rather than offering any assistance, no apology for the error, no validation of a mistake, he coldly told me there was “no way” to fix the issue and sarcastically added that I could “surely find something to buy here.” He knew it was an error on their part-but never showed an ounce of understanding of the situation- said a few more dismissive things to me then walked away, refusing to help further.
Not only was this an error on Dick’s part, but the complete lack of customer service from Jody was appalling. Even other employees seemed uncomfortable with how he treated me. A good manager should work to resolve issues, not dismiss customers. And now, because of their mistake and refusal to help I am out $100.
Because of this experience, I will never shop at Dick’s again.
This is a follow-up to my last
Trip to Dicks when Jody the manager was so rude! And no one could help me have my return back to my original form of payment. So, I returned a week later to see if I could get any assistance from a manager that would be willing to help. Most fortunately, Miguel, the manager today, greeted me at the door, and proceeded to take the gift card balance and return it to my credit card in a very kind and professional way. He apologized for the last interaction I had had and could not have been more helpful! Thank you Miguel!! For your time and assistance!

Went shoe shopping at Dicks for the first time today and the gentlemen there were very kind, patient and knowledgeable. Good customer service is rare these days so thanks for the great experience!!!

Try to find an employee on the 2nd floor to get a box down from a top shelf or even answer questions about equipment. Messy and understaffed. I was told by a manager on the phone that my coupon would be honored in store and then when I got to the store, it wasn't. Unsubscribed

If you fish, don’t come to this Dick’s. They have replaced the fishing department with Stanley and similar insulated merchandise. Apparently the bean counters have taken over. Too bad, as I liked Dick’s, and I already have enough Stanley and Yeti gear.

My daughter and I had an amazing experience at the Lombard (Butterfield Rd) location. We went in looking for Track & Field spikes. This location has the best product selection in general and every associate was helpful. However, Isaiah J. was so knowledgeable, professional and patient. Which resulted in us purchasing the perfect shoe for her Track & Field season!! Thank you!!
