Saw Dr. Kamide again on 11/11/23 after previous 6-7 years with her. She is MARVELOUS! Very competent, very friendly, very easy to talk to! She tunes in to your specific needs, applying her wealth of knowledge to your specific eye condition. Her optician staff was also very kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kamide at JC Penney Optical, Yorktown! Major contrast seeing her as to my recent (doctor-advised) ophthalmologist appointment where I was rudely treated and condescended upon...Prices were excellent as well!!

All I can say is this place has to be God sent the staff is amazing and kind the Dr herself has helped the community for 30 years now and is the most sweetest women ever with a tremendous patience! Now on the sales floor you will meet a man called Aaron morales he is optical manager Aaron has not only helped me in the store but has become a life long friend that I hope to never lose. He carries himself with the upmost professionalism and never forgets to smile. Ask for him & you won't regret it.

They helped me out in a crunch. I visited from out of town and spent more time here than I planned for. I needed extra contact lenses and they worked it out for me. And they were so nice.

As with many of the reviews here, I am being gracious with the stars. 2 stars only because I think that the employees try. First off, paid of a lot of money for the glasses. Secondly, the glasses are cheap and flimsy. The process was painful. Had to wait forever to talk with someone EVEN WITH AN APPOINTMENT as there are so many packages etc to consider and they over book people. Finally decided on frames and purchase, only to find out that the frame I wanted couldn't fit the curve of my prescription. So I quickly found another frame (again people are waiting after me) and made the purchase. I have to go for adjustments often because the frame just doesn't stay adjusted and ONLY THEN does she tell me that this frame is not appropriate for my Rx. Why was I not told that when I placed the order? Because there were people waiting and she was overwhelmed trying to service everyone by herself.....Oh did I mention this was during COVID as well. This has to be the bottom of the barrel for eye glass companies.

Follow up. No return calls. Saw new eye doc today who assessed these "glasses" I paid big money for. OH EMMM GEEEE I was charged for no line bifocals, none. Prescription is next to NOTHING!! No wonder I couldn't see!! Ive been wearing 6 year old glasses that I could see better from (from VisionWorks) which is a way older prescription. But at least I had glasses when I paid. This is BS. I want a refund knowing this. And STOP CALLING ME FOR AN EYE EXAM. I will NEVER RETURNThe frame was fine, it was the freaking lenses. DO NOT GO HERE

My first time using JcPenney Optical, service was terrible. They only keep one person employed at the front counter who is in no hurry to take care of anyone. I still ordered glasses and after waiting a month and getting the run-around on why they did not have them, I was told my glasses "re-stocked" and they were trying to find the frames at other locations. When I went to pick them up they were in completely different frames, which they did offer to give me for free in exchange for picking out a different pair. But I did not want two pairs I did not order I wanted one pair that I did order. Also, the lenses were awful I briefly put them on and was seeing double. I will never use them again.

My lenses were scratched they said they would be open today at 12 and its after 12 and no one is here. Really bad customer service. Second bad experience with them, no more!!

I love the optometrist at this location , she is one of the nicest doctors I have ever met . Also, Jessica that works in the office is awesome as well!

I LOVE the optometrist at this location. She did a thorough exam and gave me many contact lens options. She order some trial lenses from different brands and I later picked and ordered the lens that worked best.Later in the year I wanted to get a price for new glasses so I called. The patient record filing system seemed unorganized because they couldn't find my file and had to call me back with the price. I came to the store a few weeks later on a Saturday with my father to help me select the frames. When we arrived there was no other customers in the store. Subsequently, a woman came in with her elderly parents. The mother needed her frames fixed and she was helped. So we waited for awhile and my father sat down because he's 87 years old. Then another couple came in and the manager left the older woman to help the new arrival. The older woman asked the manager why she left her to help the couple and said she was there first. Then I said, no, I was here first. The manager said, in a loud and irritated tone, that I need to be patient and wait. She was helping the couple because they had an exam and were first priority. Finally another young woman employee arrived and I handed her the frames that I selected and told her I'd be back so the elderly woman could be helped before me and we left the store. After I got my father situated with my husband, I returned about 20-30 minutes later. When, I returned, there was no one else in the store. I asked the young woman about the frames I set aside and told her I wanted to order glasses. When I sat down to get my specifics, I learned that the computer system was down and they could not place my order until it was fix. So I requested to her and the manager that when the computer was back working to please order these glasses. I gave her my JC Pennys CC number and left the store. That was a Saturday morning and on Tuesday evening about 6pm I receive a message from the manager asking me to return her call. I returned the call on Wednesday about 7pm and left a voice message. My message said that I'm not sure of the reason you want to speak with me, but, if the call has to do with my eyeglass order that yes, please order the glasses. Did not hear back from JCPenny Optical.After 3 weeks I called asking the status of my order and I was told there was no order made for glasses but only contact lenses order I had made earlier in the year.After some prompting the manager told me the glasses were not ordered because the girl that helped me was new to the company and she only works 1 day a week. When I asked the manager about why she called me on that Tuesday night she could not recall and when I asked about the voice mail message I left on Wednesday night, I was told she didn't get my message. On top of the extreme lack of customer service, the manager was interrupting me in the middle of my sentences. I called a JCPennys 800 number to complain and spoke with an operator that said she'd pass on my complaint to the district manager. I expressed to the operator that I wanted to speak with someone. Instead, the Yorktown manager that was responsible for this debacle called me. She said if I order the glasses today, there is currently a better promotional deal and the price of the glasses would be less. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??! Why would I reward bad service with my business?? I have not heard from anyone since and I would not recommend JCPenny Optical Department at Yorktown.

I don't know what type of Anti-Reflective coating they use, but it is dirt cheap. The lenses scratch easily. I went to a different Optical center to get new glasses with crizal lenses and I can tell they have much better AR Protective coating!
