“Nice store to have in a small town. Employees are always friendly and helpful. Just wish they would cut down on all the clutter in the aisles and around the registers. Would be 5 star if not for the mess.”
“The store seemed nice for no longer than I was in there. The main reason I am writing a review is the nice cashier who was very friendly to me and the other customers. She asked us if we wanted our receipts and to have a good day. Believe it or not that’s going above and beyond for most Dollar General’s especially the ones in Mattoon.”

“They really do work their asses off lol they do a great job, too. Always stocked with the little amount of staff they're allowed to have. Plus they have such a great team put together. They are great at creating bonds with the people that come in. It makes me sad seeing people upset about this store. They do their best with the amount of people we have in town and the amount of staffing they have. We are extremely lucky to even have this store. We should do better to help them maintain it and respect it when we do our shopping. I'm grateful I don't have to go all the way to Sullivan for diapers, wipes, milk, etc. It's just right down the road. Plus, my toddler is always so sweetly interacted with. The staff has watched her grow up since a newbie and she's almost two now. She adores them!”
