First thing we want to say thank you Toyota and a very special thanks to our salesman, CHASE DUGGER! Ya'll rock!
When we went in we really didn't know what we were looking for but it didn't take CHASE long to figure it all out because he listened intently to our wants and needs and place in our Toyota RAV4. What really impressed us was the patience CHASE had in dealing with us. (This we truly appreciated).
After we agreed to purchase our New RAV4 we were almost ready to go, but I wanted to understand completely how to use the fancy fancy display screen to as it was more than our last car. CHASE dummied it up for me and we were on our way.
We returned for more detailed info and CHASE and RANDY worked diligently to make it all customized and perfect for us.
When we left Toyota feeling fully empowered on operating our New RAV4 due to the time and patience displayed by all the Toyota employees. We feel confident that if we ever need anything all we have to do is call. You don't find this quality in all employees now days.
Saturday we returned, not to ask questions but to delivery and thank you note from us by way of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
Saying thank you seems so small compared to the service we received from Toyota staff.

Went to buy a car today, or so I thought….
I spoke with a salesman named Johnathon at 8:30 this morning on the phone, asked questions about the car, ran through the car fax, decided that I was going to come and buy it as long as everything checked out. (Had been on the lot for a couple months which is a bit unusual in the current car climate) I had him go ahead and get my financing all pre approved and told him I was going to the bank to get my down payment and I’d be there to drive it and do paperwork. I made sure to do all of those before coming because of the time it was going to take to do all of that and drive the hour and a half it took to get to the dealership…
I told him that I wanted to drive that car to make sure everything checked out and wanted to know if he had some comparable options if we decided against the one we had picked.
When my family and I arrived we were told that the car was sold and there was nothing we could do about it, looked at some other options but none of them truly fit our wants/needs like the car we had picked out and we didn’t want to impulsively buy something else for conveniences sake. He kept talking about how I wanted to look at other options anyways and that I wasn’t sure on the payment or price of that other one anyways so it’d be alright.
I asked the guy how his dealership could justify selling a car to someone else when I had allowed them to get me pre approved on that car specifically. He decided to smooth the situation over by questioning my intelligence, saying things like
“ Are you serious? You sold cars before you said….
If you used to sell cars why did you not ask if you could reserve it? Then why would you text me about other options before you got here.
Sorry you blame use for your choice to not give a deposit or get here sooner.”
Incredibly poor customer experience all in all, especially when I was never asked to put a deposit down, I was never notified that there was someone there looking at the car and if if these things would’ve been communicated to me, this whole situation could and would have been avoided all together.
Don’t waste your time at this dealership, there are plenty of other Toyota dealers in Southern Illinois that won’t drop the ball and then berate you for it.

We had to absolutely buy a vehicle last weekend--despite pre-ordering and waiting, the Chip shortage, low dealer inventories, etc. We had not bought a vehicle since BEFORE Covid (2019) and had no idea what to expect. My car was 'totaled' and even though it was repairable, we knew it was time for a new car. Also, our lease paid from insurance ended on Monday. We looked at Buying Services like AAA Motor Club, Sam's Club, and Consumer Reports Buying Service to get an idea of pricing post-COVID. We checked out a top of the line Chrysler 300 Limited, as well as a Honda Accord Touring TRG, a Subara Legacy Touring model and a Camry Touring model because we wanted a hybrid, full power seats including the passenger seat, heated and COOLED seats, a very peppy engine and decent MPG. On Saturday morning, we were greeted by Randy Johnson of Marion Toyota and he showed us inside before they even opened for business on Saturday morning! We went over what we absolutely had to have (deal breaker list) and what was 'extra'. All salesmen should do this!! It helped him and us find the best vehicle (Sedan, not SUV). My wife and I had previously sat in an Accord Hybrid Touring model, a Legacy AWD Touring Model, and a Camry Hybrid Touring (top of the line). After not finding the exact combination of comfort, power everything, AWD with a quiet cabin, Randy suggested that we look at the Toyota Crown Platinum (Hybrid Max) because it was more like a highway cruiser then a low slung sedan. The difference was eye-opening for us. We've had plenty of powerful and comfortable long-distance vehicles for trips and the Crown had 340 HP/400 lb. ft. of torque and still had very good MPG all around. We had no qualms about passing on two lane roads in the 45-65 acceleration range with the Crown Platinum. My wife loved the spaciousness and it was beautifully trimmed but not ostentatious. Randy did a superb job of LISTENING and UNDERSTANDING exactly what we liked and figuring out what we should look at--even if we hadn't thought about it. Additionally, he didn't hesitate to call Nathan Doering on Saturday (at his home) and ask very pointed questions about options for paint and interior protection. Nathan gave us straight answers. Finally, we also give FIVE STARS to Steve Ward, the Finance Manager, because he was not only able to explain any extra coverage to consider (we drive 25K miles per year) but he also prioritized them for us given our driving behavior. I even mentioned to him the dodgy tactics of others relating to "Document Fees" and he blew that out of the water. Oh, did I mention that we also got just under 8 Percent off of the Dealer Sticker Price on this vehicle? Unheard of post-Covid.
I've had great success buying from Marion Toyota for several decades and they have handled all warranty issues and quirks raised by me or customers that I knew. Their service department did whatever was necessary without hesitation. FIVE STARS ACROSS THE BOARD (John, Nathan, Steve and the Service Department too!) to Marion Toyota.
