I like the bank itself, the perks, and the app. I haven’t ever taken a loan out with them so i don't know how bad/good they are there. What I do know is they’ll lock your account up in hurry over nothing. I called them Friday because i was ordering some front shocks that were 2 grand since it was over my spend limit. Everything was fine the order went through and everything. Come Sunday i cant even use my account with apple pay! Go to Culver's guess what? Declined!! Good thing i filled up Sunday before it got locked up Sunday. I got lucky and happen to have a credit card from a far superior lender that will let me access what mine! Im very thankful I don’t drive for a living because Id have been screwed all because the bank wants to hold my money suddenly with no notice. Sad part is they do this to me at least 6 times a year. Its sad you have to worry about the bank doing that when if you want your card off all you have to do is get on the mobile app and in a matter of minutes its off. Called them in the morning on this matter and never even got a call back! What a joke!

Recently moved to mattoon. No other bank would deposit a large check in a timely manner. Washington Savings did! Bravo! Customer for life..

My card is always getting shut off. Except when fraudulent charges are made then they pay them off and told me if I wanted my money back I had to get it myself and that's with fraud protection. Most say by far the worst bank I've ever had the misfortune of using. Or at least the Charleston avenue location. I've even got nsf fee from them 30 minutes later my paycheck went into my account they paid bill at that time but didn't give the nsf fee back. The bill did not get sent back

This bank is a good bank any time I have needed help they are so pleased to be of service. I could not be happier with a bank. I have had problems with other banks in the past but no problems with this bank especially the Effingham locations.

I was a customer with another bank until Washington Savings bought them out. It has been nothing but frustrations from day one with them. Service is the one thing I would like from them yet not something they are not willing to deliver. The tiny bank they bought out was far more capable of meeting my needs. I am angry, frustrated and feel that there may not be a bank in the region capable of anything more than basic parochial transactions.

The only reason I am banking with Washington Savings Bank is because my bank was bought out and closed by WSB. My accounts got transferred to WSB and less than two months later I can easily say that this has been by far the worst banking experience I have ever had. I've gone into the establishment three times so far. Each and every time I have left there without my issue being taken care of. The workers will gladly write down your information and make it seem like they care about helping you - but they don't. They will write it down and let you know that it will be taken care of immediately. But it doesn't. For me personally, it never has. They still have yet to fix an issue with a payment being taken out of my account that I brought to their attention a month or so ago. I left that afternoon with them telling me it was taken care of. Well, the next day it was not taken care of so I went back in and had a different worker ASSURE me that they had the problem figured out, and that my payment setup will be back to the way it has always been. Yet here we are a month+ later, I was supposed to have 3 different payments taken out of my account over that time period, and not a single one has been taken out. It's honestly, truly embarrassing. I've never banked for someone who cares less about the people they serve. Whenever you have lazy workers lie to your customers faces time and time again, I mean it honestly doesn't get any worse. I know I've not had a worse experience in all of my years of banking. It's pathetic honestly. Everyone working there should be ashamed.

How can we rate this company ZERO or NEGATIVE? they will lie and do what ever it takes to cover their behinds, they will make you believe they are here for you, but the are not, run as fast and as far as you can from a person by the name of Kathy Yarnell, she is a bully and she has her back covered by her manager John Spitz that can not fire her because she is working there for many years.
