Had a fifth wheel hitch installed on my truck. Price was fair and work was completed as promised. When I picked up my truck, Tom walked me through the operation of the hitch and answered all of my questions. This was a very smooth transaction and I would use them again in the future.

Great experience buying. Kind of slow moving but great experience. Only after i got home did i realize that my trailer hitch won't come off my truck without beating it. But with a $100+ purchase i can replace it. Yes the trailer was used, but i would reasonably expect to be able to get out of my truck rather than lift the truck with the ball clearly unlatched.

** BEWARE **As a 15+ year business customer we are disgusted by Knapheide’s greed and dishonesty. Every month we purchase production products from them for our customers and have always had an agreed upon price for said products. Under the prior ownership we never had issues with pricing and inventory but now we were told the products we purchase have increased 49%, yes 49%, per unit. They lied to us and stated “we pay more than you buy them for” which is NOT the truth. We can name several online distributors (etrailer, summit racing, fleet pride, and Amazon) who charge nearly the same price as we were paying per unit. Now they miraculously have increased the price (on old stock / old prices) 49% ???We will never do business with Knapheide again and suggest that anyone who considers them be aware that the parts employees make commission on everything they sell so they will blame the price increases / high pricing on “inflation” because they make less money on the sale.Sincerely, prior business customer who will never return.

Terrible Customer Service – especially if you are a woman.Went into shop to inquire about a hitch. No electric, just a hitch. Three guys behind the counter chatting. The one helping me felt the need to answer the phone during our conversation. Chatting happily with customer on the line, explain Mr. X was not available – then struggled to transfer call. Ever hear of voice mail – maybe ask someone else to answer the call? Give “service” to the customer standing in front of you.Knapheide Trailers/Truck Equipment Center caters to men and for those who are spending big bucks. For the average customer wanting a simple hitch put on – don’t bother! Came in with a hitch serial number that fits my vehicle, and was told I would get a call back with price. Two days later, they call and way more money than what is listed direct from manufacturer and at $110/hour labor was told it could be 1-2 hour install. Its 4 bolts mind you…I did research and another manufacturer hitch is favored more, gave Knapheide the stock number when I got a call back two days later. Sales guy him-hawed and said he was not sure it would fit, would have to see my vehicle again. Excuse me, it is listed for my specific vehicle but was questioned because assuming I’m a woman. Old boys club there. Only one woman receptionist and another sweeping the floor.Day four now… still waiting on the call back for a price on second hitch. Don’t waste your time – go elsewhere!
