Very deceitful and dishonest. Go elsewhere to buy, or repair, a clock.

This company charged by Boss Dr. Clark Barshinger $4500 to clean and tune up his 40 year old grandfather clock. After calling around to three different clock repair places they only charged $1K. He has been ripped off. Do not go to this company as they do not care about you and keeps your clock for 9 months plus. His wife's clock was in the display window of the store and they had to threaten them to be able to take it home. What a dishonest establishment.

Cuckoo clock from the Black Forest in *******, purchased in the early 1950's, had stopped running. I went to the store 11/18/2022 and requested an ESTIMATE for repair. Son said his dad, ****, was out and it would take a few weeks or more to hear back. Had a very specific and clear conversation with the son stating I did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on it and all I wanted was an ESTIMATE. He acknowledged that, had me write my name and phone number on a ticket and gave me the Claim Check stub from the ticket. On 3/29/2023 I called to follow up, having not heard from them. ****, the owner/father, answered and told me he just finished and the clock was REPAIRED and ready for pick-up! I told him I specifically requested an estimate and did not authorize a repair. He said I had to pay for the work that was done and parts installed and ended the call. Interesting that the clock was conveniently completed on the day I called after over 4 months. On 3/31/2023 **** called me and asked when I was coming to pick up the clock, so I reluctantly went into the store that afternoon. Again, I stated that I did not request or authorize a repair, only an estimate. He asked for the claim check stub, brought out the clock and told me it would be $330.00. I asked to see the main portion of the original ticket and he said he threw it away. I told him I was struggling to accept this unauthorized repair cost and that his son should have made estimate only clear on the ticket, to which he replied \

Cuckoo clock from the Black Forest in Germany, purchased in the early 1950's, had stopped running. I went to the store 11/18/2022 and requested an ESTIMATE for repair. Son said his dad, Nick, was out and it would take a few weeks or more to hear back. I told him I was struggling to accept this unauthorized repair cost and that his son should have made estimate only clear on the ticket, to which he replied "well, who wrote out the ticket?", at which point I was almost speechless. He continued on about how I needed to do the right thing and pay for the work that was done. Because I am not an a**hole, I pulled out a credit card to pay the bill. He then told me they don't accept cc's, only CASH or CHECK. I paid by check, he handed me an invoice and a business card, I took the clock and left. I got home and looked at the things he handed me and here's the business card, front and back...pretty sure those symbols indicate that credit cards are accepted. Can't believe I didn't look up reviews beforehand. My bad. Buyer beware.

If I could rate this a Zero I would. In 2 weeks it will be the Wal. Co Fair, which means a year ago we purchased a clock. We were told due to shipping delays it would be 30 days to receive. We called at 30 days, 60 days, 90 days and every single month since with either no response or their son saying he can't help have to galk to his dad, who NEVER returns our call.I submitted everything to the fair board in hopes this scamming business is banned from our fair grounds. Do not go here for any reason what so ever. Customer service is deplorable. They scam you and you are out money!

I brought my father in laws pocket watch in and they said you have to remove the glass to set the time (he worked on the Railroad and would never been able to do this) The Glass was crystal when I dropped it off, plastic when they returned it. They charged me $ 180.00 more than they quoted me.
