The staff is very helpful. They do a great job with custom orders. My sister, my mother, and I have all had some custom items made and stones reset into new styles and every piece is well done!

Update: the owner Max reached out to me and apologized for Janelle’s demeanor and explained the reason for delay. He, however, did not address why I was charged a rush fee.I decided to go to Steffan’s to get my engagement ring and two wedding bands soldered together after receiving multiple recommendations due to their excellency in jewelry as well as their customer service. I am overall extremely happy with the work done to my rings. They look amazing. What I am less than impressed with is the customer service and lack of integrity I received from the sale associate Janelle. I went in expecting a two week turnaround time based on the below Facebook conversation I had with Steffan’s. I even asked if an appointment was required and per their below response, one was not. When I met with Janelle she told me the jeweler was on vacation and they had a 3-4 week turnaround time and then gave me a hard time about how I should’ve made an appointment. I then referenced my Facebook message and her less than polite response to me was “the jeweler is a human too and deserves time off, we can have it done in the two week window for a $50 rush fee.” She then told me it would be done by April 24th. I was very insulted by her comment as I never once said the jeweler didn’t deserve time off. My husband just got back from a 6 month deployment, I’m well aware people need a break! I then paid the $50 as I am returning to an area that doesn’t have a jeweler and desperately wanted my rings soldered. I awaited a call on the 24th that my rings were done, it never came. I called on the 25th and Janelle told me it would be done on the 26th. As unfair as I feel the rush fee was based on the below conversation I had, I do think Steffan’s does exceptional work. Their customer service is just lacking with this particular associate.

I've been extremely happy since coming here. I love my custom engagement ring. I was very particular on how I wanted it and they delivered! Working on making a final decision on my wedding band now too. Jessica has been very patient and understanding with me which I appreciate so much. I have a lot of anxiety with big purchases/decisions like this and people get annoyed with me but she's been great! I will update my photos if possible once I have my band too!

We have been looking for a wedding band set for 2 years. I had almost given up hope of finding my dream ring. When one night I was out with my husband and saw the perfect ring this lady was wearing. I stared talking to her and she referred us to Steffans. I called right away and Max took the time to hear what I was looking for. Steffans is about an hour drive for me so I wanted to make sure it was worth the drive. He sent me pricing and pictures of the ladies ring, that’s when I knew we needed to make the drive. We got there and Max had several options already waiting for us. In the end I choose the ring he first picked, he knew what I wanted just by listening to what I had to say. I absolutely LOVE my ring! ❤️

I never review stuff but they just took such good care of us at Steffans!! Janelle was so helpful and made an affordable custom ring that is exactly what I wanted. They gave me a bag of goodies after the engagement and were very excited for us. Very personal, caring and attentive. They offer free ring cleaning and resizing. We get a coupon for our wedding rings and a folder with some coupons for wedding stuff. I would recommend anyone and everyone go to this amazing place!!

Everybody at Steffan’s is so knowledgeable, personable, and professional. When someone compliments me on my jewelry, I always tell them about Steffan’s and Sam, my jeweler. Sam listens to me and hears me. She finds what I’m looking for in her terrific stock of jewelry pieces. As well, Sam knows her vendors’ offerings and can order anything I need. What I love is that now, Sam is not only my jeweler, she’s also my husband’s. Lucky me. Thank you, Steffan’s, for consistently beautiful, high-quality products. The Jewelry store is great but the owners Max and Jessica are even better. It’s a treasure for a small town like Mchenry to have a place like this because they have everything you could ever be looking for and the exceptional hometown service. Trust me you will not regret shopping here, I will continue to come back anytime I need jewelry for myself or a gift for someone special

I had a necklace tangled around the clasp that I could not get off. I was quickly greeted and told someone would be with me in a minute. While waiting a few minutes for an associate to be available, I noticed how helpful and friendly they were to all the clients in their store. I walked in, sort of embarrassed that I could not get this knot untangled, but the staff was so nice. They quickly took care of it, inspected the chain and sent me on my way. I would definitely go back for any future purchases given their great customer service!
