Sure, you could save $20 and buy cheaper somewhere else. But why risk getting cheap tires from unskilled technicians who don’t know how to properly balance a tire and then use an impact wrench to tighten your lug nuts causing your alloy rims to be distorted? Where’s your $20 savings now?

“A Tale of Two Shops – just one example of how great Nofsinger’s has been over the years, as Dave is always quick to consult or scan my cars even when busy, and has always been more than reasonable.
Using technology many independent shops lack, Dave diagnosed my intermittent airbag light as a failing clock spring and then determined that Hyundai had a problem with the part so I might be able to get it repaired free at a dealership. No charge from Dave.
Sure enough, I found a technical service bulletin and an extension of the warranty to 15 years. This should be the end of the story, but you can always count on dealers to make Nofsinger’s look good. I booked a service appointment at a dealership in Villa Park (also reviewed) and insisted that they have the part in stock by the time I came so I wouldn’t have to go twice.
Short version: They didn’t have the part but didn’t tell me until I’d been there 2.5 hours waiting for an oil change I’d added and an open recall (underbody treatment) I’d agreed to only because I thought I was getting it all over with at once.
On top of that, the service writer told me the job would cost $700 when the part came in. Gee, I wonder where dealers get their bad reputations? After I pushed back, he scurried off to a manager and then returned to confirm there would be no charge, but there was never anything close to an apology.
I never went back. I got the part for $27 and installed it myself literally in 20 minutes. If I’d gone back to Nofsinger’s (where they’re always patient with my DIY endeavors), I guarantee it wouldn’t have cost $700. Or $200. They can do way more than you think, and if they can’t, they admit it.”

“I had a piece of plastic, possibly a cover or protective piece on the underside of my vehicle hanging down and dragging along the road, I stopped by the dealership on Golf Road but of course they were busy. I brought it down the street to Abby, and Chris briefly paused his current job to roll my car on the rack and fix it, and he didn't charge me for it. Easy fix, I wasn't there even for 15 minutes, but I appreciate the willingness to address it right away. Love the family business level of customer service. Better than dealerships and franchises. A+”
“They had recommend I visit another auto body shop that specializes in catalytic convertors as they could replace mine cheaper. I went there and they didnt really know if it would fix the problem. I went back and they were able to determine that the replacing the catalytic convertor would make a big difference. Sure enough that fixed the problem and the car has been running good.”

“I took my muscle car to Barnes to address an overheating issue. The car was recently restored. Prior shop did not install proper radiator set up. Chuck came up with a solution and had new fans installed. Additionally he identified a number of other issues which needed to be repaired. Prior shop did not install these items correctly. Car is now running and riding great. I will definitely use Barnes again for future repair needs.”

Before this, I had my wheel alignment done in Canadian tire. But the tires continued to wear out.. Wasted time and money. After the work of the center I immediately felt the difference. “When my family lived in Lombard from 1978 to 2017, we went to Supreme Transmission whenever our vehicles needed transmission or clutch work. It has been 15+ years since I was last there for service on one of my vehicles but I am so glad I went back there this past week to have work done on my transmission. The staff may have changed since my last visit to Supreme but the the current staff with Jerry are awesome!!! They are very honest and they do not overprice or oversell to you. Any other place would have easily told me I would need a new or rebuilt transmission but Jerry was very upfront with me and honest and told me all I needed was a new axle for the transmission. They did a great job in repairing my vehicle and were very quick in completing the job!!! “Recently bought a '98 Eldorado with low miles. To avoid any major mishaps, I decided to get ahead of any problems that may be coming. This shop deserves a higher rating than it has (fully aware they have a good rating).
