We needed a room for family in town visiting, and the mansion was perfect! Accommodations were so comfy & relaxing. The mansion is full of history and antiques. The owner is so kind and friendly, making it feel like home. She's also an incredible chef who makes sure guests are happy and very well-fed a delicious breakfast. This will be our go-to place for visiting friends & family! Highly recommendRooms: Very comfortable and beautifully decoratedNearby activities: Superman statue, Superman Museum, Hidden Gems, Ft MassacSafety: Locking front door and lock for room. Blocks from the local police station.Walkability: Right in town. Close to local attractions, restaurants & parks.Food & drinks: Delicious breakfast cooked to order & always fresh. Always cold tea, lemonade & water out to quench your thirst.Noteworthy details: History and antiques everywhere!

Absolutely incredible place to stay. The owner is so kind, helpful and goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and feel like you are at home. The Mansion itself is rich with history and feels as if you are stepping back in time yet not lacking in any of the modern conveniences we like today such as wifi, jacuzzis and tv's in every room with hulu.. Oh and how have I not mentioned the amazing homemade cinnamon biscuits and monkey bread with full breakfast that is made when you want in the mornings. Yes it is magical and you need to stay here. Are you still reading..... book your stay I promise you will not regret it.Noteworthy details: The breakfast was so yummy and the owner was so sweet!

Our stay was INCREDIBLE!First, apologies on how long it took to get to this review. It’s been go go go since we returned. However, our stay here was so amazing that it hasn’t left our minds. So, the “bed” part of bed and breakfast? So comfortable! The rooms were amazing and had such a sense of history. The rooms were very spacious and beautifully decorated. Vintage wallpaper and bed dressings give you the full effect of traveling in time to a bygone era. The showers and bathtubs were great. The tubs were the claw foot standalone type tubs and not the typical Home Depo special you get in motels and hotels. There’s just something about showering in one of those tubs that takes you back. However if you want to use them, there are indeed wonderful modern jacuzzis available in the rooms as well which are super relaxing after a day of walking around and sightseeing and shopping.Things were very comfortable inside despite it being very hot and so humid outside. And there were extra fans if you needed them and you wanted to stay cooler too. The furniture is actual wood and not the cheap particle board stuff used with in so many places today. The wood just feels “rich and elegant.” From the outside, you get such a sense of history. The place is absolutely beautiful. Now… the “breakfast” part of bed and breakfast was so filling. You will eat like you’ve never eaten before and will want more but won’t have the space to put it. I wish we could have stayed an extra day even just for the food. The owner asks about your preferences and needs and does such a great job with the food. She makes a killer sweet tea as well! The place was remarkably maintained and the owner was so welcoming. She felt like a family member we haven’t seen in so long, like a grandmother to us and our kids. She was super flexible about the check in and check out times as well, enabling us to get a quick shower in before leaving so that after sight seeing we didn’t need to sit in our sweaty clothes for the next leg of the trip. We so much wanted to stay longer! It was such a great experience there is no doubt that we will stay here every time we come to Metropolis. Oh and I should mention that when you stay here, you do get admission to the Superman museum included in the cost which is just icing on the cake.So really, why are you still reading? Book a stay. You will not be disappointed. Five stars, fifty stars, five hundred stars!

Really cool place to stay. The owners are so nice and make for a good stay. The jacuzzi tub is nice and there are a lot of cool antiques. I would recommend this place if you’re visiting Paducah or Metropolis, or if you are passing through.

This was my first time to stay at a B&B. Lori and Will are exceptional people. They made everything seem like home and made us feel very comfortable. The Grand Suite is the best!! Breakfast was beyond my expectations!! Will go back for another stay.

This bed and breakfast is amazing. An 1889 historic house right across the street from the casino. The best part about my trip to metropolis was the hosts Laura and William. The nicest people with amazing food. Thank you so much for having us.

My husband and I decided to celebrate my birthday early and go to our first Bed and Breakfast. When you first drive up to the house it looks spooky but once you are inside Mr. William and Mrs. Lori make you feel at home; like visiting family. The home is beautifully decorated with antiques and everything you need. The rooms are spacious with a jacuzzi and the bathrooms are large with a claw foot tub. The rooms also have wifi, roku tv and a fan of you need one. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Breakfast was wonderful and you could tell it was made with love. Mr. William would sit with you and tell you the history of the over 100 year old home. If you need anything from juice to towels Mrs. Lori was on top of it. We will definitely stay again in the future. Hated to leave so early.

Just left our overnight stay at the Riverview Mansion and heading back to Nashville. A great little getaway for a weekend in Metropolis Il. Home of Superman. Quint little town w a beautiful State Park and Harrahs Casino. We originally we were going to stay at Harrahs Casino hotel but wanted something different. We stayed at the Riverview Mansion. The owners William and Lori were so nice and accommodating. We choose the Grand Suite on the first floor. Very homey and the fireplace in our room made it such a warm and romantic feeling. Great sleep and we even had fresh coffee made for us at 6am. They asked us what time wed like breakfast served. Lor had fresh fruit, juice unbelievable homemade apple crepes and if that wasnt enough she made scrambled eggs w homemade biscuits and gravy. William will tell you anything you need to know about the history of the town. Rather you just want to get away w your spouse or maybe a bunch of couples try the mansion out. You'll love it. 5 Stars all the way. Thank you William and Lori. Cheryl Carbone

We loved staying here in this historical house, it felt like being in a movie set! Hosts were awesome, friendly and kind and knowledgeable. It felt like staying with family. The breakfast from Lori was the best breakfast I've had in a long time, and even was served with much warmth and hospitality. The in-room jacuzzi was the best, too.
