We are so grateful to Hickey Funeral Home for the compassion and care they showed our family during such a difficult time. They took so much stress and pressure off our shoulders by handling every detail of my grandmother’s wake and funeral with grace and professionalism. Everything was arranged beautifully, and it gave us peace of mind knowing we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Their kindness, patience, and attention to detail made all the difference, and we will forever be thankful for how they helped us honor our grandmother in such a meaningful way.

Jack was extremely helpful and professional. Certainly took the stress off of us as we mourned the loss of our father while trying to plan services. We didn’t worry because Jack took care of it all during a harrowing period in our lives.

I suddenly lost my spouse of 27 years in October. I could not have honored him properly without the support of Jack Hickey at Hickey Memorial Chapel in Midlothian. His professionalism and consideration helped get me through this most terrible time with grace and dignity. I highly recommend this business.

If I could post zero, I would. Jack should not be in this business. I lost my mother tragically 11/2/20 in a fatal car accident. My aunt chose Hickey - as an only child and now sole caretaker to my aged father, I was in shock. My father passed away 4 months after my mom died -- he was literally lost without my mom. I then chose Hickey because it was what I knew. This was all during COVID restrictions, so we could not have traditional services -- strict limits to 20 people or less, no food, etc. My mother's service was paid in full. When we lost my father, I had been unemployed due to the pandemic, but drawing on my retirement to survive, so I gave Jack Hickey a down payment and "signed a contract" to pay the rest at a later date. I just contacted Hickey and offered to pay the bill in full if they would please waive the late fees they charge on a monthly basis. I explained to them I still had not yet sold my parents' home -- my aunt and I have been so grief-stricken that we have not even gone through their belongings as I write this -- but I'd like to pay them ASAP because of probate taking long, etc. Jack Hickey replied that I "signed a contract" and he would not waive any late fees, regardless of my situation. I guess the only people making money during this "unprecedented time" are the undertakers -- oh, and the people making masks and vaccines -- the undertakers probably hope the pandemic never ends -- more business and much less work to do cleaning up after the mourners. Their website makes claims of the compassion you will receive at Hickey Memorial Chapel -- maybe you will get this with other members of the Hickey family -- but Jack Hickey should not be in this business because he obviously only cares about himself.

We recently held the services for my mother-in-law at Hickey's Midlothian location. We worked with Jack and he was phenomenal. Planning a funeral is not an easy process, and one we had never done before. Jack did an amazing job explaining everything thoroughly and answering all of the questions we had. Even later, when I thought of additional things to add to the obituary, or changes to make to other parts of the service, he was so kind and understanding. While this is a type of business you don't look forward to needing, I HIGHLY recommend Hickey's during these difficult times.

During this tough time in mine and my family's lives Hickey memorial chapel has shown nothing but compassion, knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail in there profession. My family and I highly recommend there services to everyone who will unfortunately need them in the future.

The staff is very professional, compassionate, thorough, and provided us a very pleasant experience. During the procession to the cemetery, they stopped at the home and placed a flower on the front porch. It was an amazing gesture that we will never forget. This was our first experience organizing a service, and they helped us through this process, down to every detail, which made us feel very comfortable that we didn't miss anything. I highly recommend this memorial chapel, and a special thanks to Jack for the special attention he delivered to our family during this emotional time.

They did not have family in line to follow the funeral cars just lined us up as we get to the place. Moved things around after the family set everything up not happy that we did it and was not sad nice why he wanted it his way.
