My wife has done our taxes for 20 years...she passed away last year so I went to Liberty Tax to be sure I did not run into any problems. I went in Feb so I would not have to worry about anything at the deadline. Everything seemed fine but tax guy GS suggested setting up a payment for the $1055.00 i owed to be taken out of my bank account on 4/11. I should have paid right away. The 11th came and went and my payment never left my bank account. I called him and he said wait 3 or 4 days and it should be good. The next week it had still not been processed so I stopped into LT and some other lady looked it up and assured me it would be taken out of my account any minute. 3 days later it still has not been paid and I try to stop by LT to get it sorted out but they were not open on Fri 4/18 or sat 4/19. I stop by at 3:30 on monday 4/21 are still closed and nobody is there to help me. I get home and waiting for me is a letter from the IRS saying they could not process my payment, no account/ unable to locate account. I had to go on the IRS web page and navigate through it to pay it myself. I paid liberty to do my taxes so I would not have ANY problems but that was not the service I received. I do not recommend LT and I do not recommend setting up a payment to the IRS just pay it the day you get your taxes done...

I had the worst experience imaginable with Liberty Tax, and I strongly urge everyone to take their business elsewhere. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. The staff was rude, disorganized, and completely unprofessional. They seemed more interested in gossiping amongst themselves than actually helping clients. I was left waiting for over an hour past my scheduled appointment, only to be rushed through the process with little to no explanation of what was happening.
The tax preparer I was assigned barely seemed competent. They made multiple errors on my return, which I only caught after reviewing it myself. When I questioned these mistakes, they became defensive and dismissive, acting as if I was the problem for pointing them out. To make matters worse, they tried to upsell me on services I didn’t need, including an outrageous fee for something they called “audit protection.” It felt like they were more focused on squeezing money out of me than actually providing a competent tax service.
After all of that, I later received a notice from the IRS about an issue with my return—an issue that was entirely Liberty Tax’s fault. When I tried to contact them for assistance, I was either ignored or given the runaround. The same people who were eager to take my money suddenly had no interest in helping me fix the mess they created. The lack of accountability and professionalism was astonishing.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other tax preparation services that will actually treat you with respect and do their job correctly. Liberty Tax is an absolute joke, and I regret ever setting foot in their office.

My tax preparer George got me in and out and made sure I got the best refund he was also great communicating me and making sure all my information was put I correct

Been coming to liberty tax 15 + years. George has taken care of my taxes for 4 years now. Always fast and accurate and friendly . Never had a problem!
