Went to eat at the "diner" part of Hy-Vee.No direction to "wait to be seated" or "seat yourself" sign. The cashier at the deli section kinda guided us on what to do. Then, a coin came out and didn't seem fully confident on helping us. The cook said we can order food from the deli and sit or order from the bartender inside the " diner". There is no waitress, so basically ask for a menu, then go up to the bartender ( all of this still in Hy-Vee) and get your own drinks. The mushroom and Swiss burger was good but some of the pops out of the fountain needed change, not sure who's responsible for that. Overall, pretty quite with some tvs as well.

Violent food poisoning from the fresh salmon. Vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and body aches around 2 hours after eating it. It was projectile in nature. Told the staff and I was informed "we just got this salmon yesterday, so it can't be our fault." Still feeling the effects of it close to a week later due to how extensive the illness was, and I will not be coming back to this location. Please be careful when purchasing fresh products from this store.

This is how my delivery experience was today… they were even so kind to leave it for me to clean up. Called the store and was told to call back tomorrow.

Went tonight to buy some last minute things I needed, it was around 9:30 so there weren’t many customers in the store and the checkouts were all clear so the cashiers were just hanging out talking which is fine. I decided not to bug them and just go to the self check out and all was fine until I tried to ring up a couple of bags of dog treats I had and it said “not in our system place aside and push okay” at which point the red light above the checkout came on and I expected someone to come over while I was finishing ringing up my items, they did not. So I ended up calling someone over to help which again wasn’t a huge deal but she came over and said she needed to get the manager, he came over and I told him the issue and he asked if I knew the price of the treats and I didn’t because I had just grabbed them in a hurry. He proceeds to tell me he can’t help me if I don’t know the price….I just looked at him waiting for him to possibly call someone to check the price or something as there were two cashiers doing nothing anyway but he didn’t he just stared at me I guess expecting me to go and check the price myself and leave all my groceries I had just ring up. I said I’m sorry I don’t know the price and again he said well I can’t do anything if you don’t know how much they cost. So I just gave up and told him never mind and I would just skip it. It’s a simple thing but honestly doing a little extra for the customer goes a long way.

I had ordered, by phone on Thursday, for 50 pieces of fried chicken to be picked up @ 4:15 PM on Saturday. when we arrived it hadn't been completed. When we asked when it was to be done they didn't know. We summized it really hadn't been started until a couple of minutes before we arrived. We finally got out of the store an hour later, 5:20-ish and we about the last to arrive at a church picnic that had started an hour earlier! No sorry's, no explanation of what had happened, just here ya go! Well, there YOU GO for any more business if there's a party I'm taking prepared food for.

Do not order meals on line. Its a joke. Ordered 1 meal, pork and 2 sides of mac & cheese at 1820. arrived at 1830 a little early but called to let them know I was here. At 1847...27 mins after I ordered they call to tell me they don't have mac &cheese.it took them 27 mins to realized that. so I said just cancel the machine & cheese and pork since I would have togo somewhere else. bring my food out just before 1900 and I asked about being refunded the money. guess what gotta go into get a refund, better yet I dont have my card to put it back on to. So basically paid $25 for meatloaf and 2 sides and I still have to go grab food somewhere else. walked out because my meal is sitting in my car getting cold. definitely a zero today Hyvee!

Their produce department is the worst in the QCA. Justin, the manager, is a donkey making excuses for the over-priced garbage they sell. Go anywhere, Jewell has better, fresh produce. ALDI also has better produce.

By far my favorite QC location! Every time I've stopped by to get groceries, we've been met with the kindest employees. Today a gentleman in fresh produce offered my daughter an apple while shopping, my cashier and the one next to us struck up pleasant conversation, and a young man returning carts wished us well as we left the store. On top of excellent customer service, Milan Hy Vee has a great variety of fresh produce and other food items. Their prices are unbeatable by other Hy Vee's as well. I'll gladly return to Milan for grocers and friendly faces.
